He's finished playing basketball.Sad for him. Seems like a good kid and his toughness would have been useful over the past couple years. Will be happy to see him get his degree, and maybe a year totally off will give him a chance to play out a final year as a grad transfer a la Spike Albrecht

This is it. The medical staff apparently told him he wouldn't be able to walk normally in 5-10 years if he kept playing. He's finished playing basketball.

This solidifies the need for Vital to be the key weapon for next year's team, correct?
Can't say which guy that is?They have one guy in mind and are working to make that happen. But if not, they will most likely bank the scholarship and have 3 for 2020-2021. They won't reach for a big in this class (19).

Spoiler: They won't eat the scholarship after going through the effort to free one upValdir Manuel or hold the scholarship. I’d rather get a good 2020 recruit than fill the remaining scholarship for 2019 just for the sake of filling it.
Between the Borges article quoting Espinosa saying “I give UConn a lot of credit” in regards to how this situation was handled and the brand consultant, I say this: Hurley is showing how much he cares through action and the groundwork is there for a return to relevance in a significant way. Can’t wait.
