We have started off the last 3 games going to Bridah for what looks like ma very high % shot and he looks very good taking it. Perhaps it would be wise to post up Bridah in the same fashion 3-4 times instead of just 1 where he catches the ball and is able to get a high % post shot. If we can utilize this with Bridah and Nolan together 6-7 times combined--it could open things up for the perimeter a little more. We have struggled offensively even in our last few wins. Going to the post for high % looks more often is a good strategy.

It is odd that they seem to start each half with that and then never go back to it again. Maybe setting something up for later in the year? Get him comfortable doing it but don't do it so much that teams spend any time planning for it? OK - that's a stretch - not doing something you need to be good at and helping out the perimeter players so you can use it later.

I just committed the Boneyard faux pas of typing before I actually thought. But it's still odd that they don't go back to it.

We've done this pretty consistently over the years -- set a play for a big man to start each half. Then no matter the success rate, we generally don't do it again. Pretty sure that's how Tyler scored the first 2 points (and his only 2) of the National Championship game.

It does get frustrating when you see Brimah seal his defender get a pass and hit a baby hook. It looks so easy! And we do it twice a game.

I agree we should try this more, but I've also seen Bazz look to get it into the post and the big guys (Brimah, Nolan, and Daniels) are not able to get in a good position. Some times they can't seal off their guy and other times they are just pushed too far out. There could be more plays run inside, but the bigs also have to do a better job of positioning.

You could see the guards are trying their best to get the ball into the paint but the bigs aren't positioned well to get the ball. Not on the guards imo.

The guy who gets the best position of the four on a regular basis is TO but when he gets the ball he doesn't have the height or ups to finish. PN is great at sealing his defender but is often too far away from the basket. He has decent moves to get closer but somehow figures out ways to fumble the ball as he starts to go for his shot. AB's got to figure a way to keep his arms from getting tangled with his defender because he's often positioned correctly but with one arm tied behind his back the guards aren't throwing him the ball. And DD is not strong enough to position himself under the basket.

There had to be at least five times SN was orchestrating players to get the ball inside. He's willing to take a turnover trying to set up an inside game because he's essentially telling the opposing team he's setting up a play. TS made an nice alley oop to AB that AB failed to complete but was fouled. RB tried to set up AB and AB totally misread the play. That was the play RB was really upset about and Bazz had to calm him down. And of course Patrick totally missed the play saying RB was taking a mid range jump shot.

Pretty simple--Amida sets up in good position--we get him the ball clean--he takes his time and takes a very high% shot. He looks like a pro player. Instead of just calling one set post play like that for Amida--call 4 and call 4 for Nolan--add in a cup of Deandre Daniels playing better---walaa our offensive struggles are turned around. We need more high % opportunities via the post.

Well you had your wish last game then with AB and DD. Nolan was a tad short.

Ah, you're right. It is pretty simple. Just get consistent scoring from the post and an improvement from our most puzzlingly inconsistent player and, presto chango, offensive problems solved. Get a memo to the staff. The thing is, as easy as it is to post an idea these dudes have to be able to actually do it on the court. It's like saying "why doesn't the staff just have Calhoun hit 4 threes a game?"

Brimah shoots 65% from the field. I would love to see him get more touches and at least 6 to 8 shots per game.
