Omar Calhoun's Future at Uconn

I think that this off-season Omar should work on his 3 pointer a ton. Losing Giffey, Napier and maybe Daniels leaves s huge void there.

I think Omar can possibly be the next Rashad Anderson given their games and the limitations of what they can and can't do.

Rashad is a stretch. How about Mouring?

Yeah Rashad was an assassin, he came to mind just because him and Omar both couldn't dribble, pass, rebound or play D exceptionally well....but damn when Anderson got hot it was something else.

Well if we can just wishcast him into someone else why not just go all in and get another Ben Gordon.

Hahaha. Hey, it wouldn't be the off-season without baseless predictions ( then again how's that different than the regular season on here haha).

It will be an interesting competition in October practice between Omar and Hamilton for the starting spot at the 3.

If Omar has returned to form, he should get he nod, at last at the beginning of the year.

If not, does Ollie have the heart to banish Omar to the bench again and give it to the freshman right off the bat?

Kevin Ollie should play the best players at all times. When Omar was playing just about as bad as any UConn player we've seen in years, he didn't deserve to play - simple as that.

I'm in Omar's camp and hope he gets better but if other guys beat him for minutes then he shouldn't play.

.-.
LOVE his committment to UCONN before and now.

I believe he will work super hard this summer to come back strong next year.

I think he needs to really improve his outside shot significantly and also improive his handle so he can drive more and not be a standstill shooter. He has to be abel to create his own shot.

His BBALL future is as a 2G and he must be abel to create off the bounce and not be a one-dimensional player.

The talent is there he just needs to be healthy and work like a Monster in off season.

I think he just needs to keep working to get some explosiveness back. Seemed like he couldn't jump at all this year. That will come in time, and I think will allow him to have better rhythm on jumpshots. That's my theory anyway.

Here's a mistake I make almost every year: Assuming that a talented freshman will take minutes away from a kid who's been in the program for a year or two and understands the system. Omar's experience will give him a chance to re-establish himself. I hope he does and once again becomes the player we saw catch fire last year. Definitely pulling for him.
