I don't think Geno would dare do that. However, if he did, they would still win easily.

It's interesting to look at minutes played for the women's team and see UConn players getting almost exactly half the minutes (with half the team). Geno is doing a great job of spreading minutes.

I don't know much about the international women's basketball scene, but is it safe to assume that the USA women won't even be remotely challenged in London? If so, it's pretty easy for Geno to spread the minutes around and keep everyone happy.

Geno has used a couple different tactics so far. He's tried to find his most effective team by mixing and matching, but lately he's been doing more of a "hockey" line sub patern. He starts Sue, Diana, Catch, Parker, and Charles and then brings in Whalen, Augustus, Moore, McCaughtry and Fowles. Altho Fowles was injured this last game - she's got some issue with her ankle or Achilles tendon or something like that. at 6'6", she's the tallest on the team, and one of the strongest centers in the world.

Anyhoo, Cash and Jones are the last reserves off the bench even tho Cash is a captain. And i don't disagree that Bird, Taurasi, Moore, Jones/Cash and Charles could win Olympic gold. But I actually noticed in the last game vs. overmatched Angola that the 2nd team seemed to do as good if not better than the first team. Still, it's a great team.

Will they be remotely challenged? Hard to say. They beat Croatia by something like 60 but were only up 10-15 going into the 4th quarter in their 1st game. Anything can happen. but they are indeed the heavy favorites...

lol...good one! The women's board is going nuts about this team. Can't blame them.
