Just so people here know where recruits are playing this week:

Fab 48
Where: Las Vegas
Date: July 24-28
Top Teams: DC Assault, Louisville Magic, Kansas Run GMC, Belmont Shore, Ray Allen Select, Sports U, Juice All-Stars, Double Pump Elite, Earl Watson Pangos Elite, Wisconsin Swing, New Jersey Gymrats, Prodigy Elite, Superior Athlete, Northern Kings, LA Rockfish, Showtime Ballers, Las Vegas Prospects, San Diego All-Stars, Arizona Magic, Team Superstar, Team Breakdown

Top Players: Emmanuel Mudiay, Malik Newman, Jahlil Okafor, Cliff Alexander, Chinanu Onuaku, Donte Grantham, Quentin Snider, Tyler Dorsey, Daniel Hamilton, Riley LaChance, Karl Towns, Quadri Moore, Isaiah Whitehead, Lamonte Bearden, Jordan McLaughlin, Josh Perkins, Jabari Craig, Robert Cartwright, Thomas Welsh, Dwayne Bacon, Shaquille Carr, Trey Kell

Looking forward to: Dinos Trigonis and Grant Rice have another loaded field. The Fab 48 opening night showcase should draw plenty of eyes, as there are two primetime match ups. Belmont Shore against Mo Williams Elite will put Tyler Dorsey and Daniel Hamilton up against Emmanuel Mudiay and Malik Newman. Then just a game later Myles Turner will face off against Jahlil Okafor and Cliff Alexander.

Adidas Super 64
Where: Las Vegas
Date: July 24-28
Top Teams: D13 Elite, Mass Rivals, Colorado Hawks, Dallas Mustangs, Compton Magic, Michigan Mustangs, Ohio Basketball Club, Triple Threat, Wisconsin Playground Warriors, D1 Minnesota, Florida Elite, Eric Gordon All-Stars, Team Loaded, Atlanta Celtics, Indiana Elite, New Orleans Elite, Dorian's Pride, Garner Road Elite, Urban DFW Elite, Dream Vision, Milwaukee Rebels, NE Playaz.

Top Players: Craig Victor, Stephen Zimmerman, Kevon Looney, Goodluck Okonoboh, Isaac Copeland, Eron Gordon, Chase Jeter, Cody Martin, Brandone Francis, Josh Jackson, Jaylen Johnson, Kaleb Joseph, Makinde London, J.P. Macura, Carlton Bragg.

Looking Forward To: Some new faces. Each year, this event produces at least one or two high-major prospects seemingly out of nowhere. The travel cycle has reached its maturation point by now, and thus many of the most touted matchups already have occurred. That said, Stephen Zimmerman versus Goodluck Okonoboh on day two produces a matchup between players who have experience disparate summers. Zimmerman entered as our No. 1 prospect but has performed unevenly, while Okonoboh has been a shotblocking monster.

Las Vegas Classic
Where: Las Vegas
Dates: July 24-28
Top Teams: Mac Irvin Fire, Oakland Soldiers, Cal Supreme, ICP Elite, NorCal Wildcats Elite, Boise Hoop Dreams

Top Players: Jahlil Okafor, Cliff Alexander, Stanley Johnson, Ivan Rabb, Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Aaron Holiday, Bennie Boatwright, Kameron Chatman, Christian Terrell, Colin Slater, Marquese Chriss

Looking Forward To: The Las Vegas Classic has some pretty good talent at the top and in general is a good opportunity to see several West Coast prospects from the next few recruiting classes, as the 16U pool has a lot of depth and talent.

Live in AC
Where: Atlantic City, New Jersey
Dates: July 24-26
Top Teams: DC Assault, Expressions Elite, Connecticut Basketball Club, We R 1, Playaz Gold, Team Final Blue, CIA Bounce, Baltimore’s Finest, Philly Pride, Team Philly

Top Players: Romelo Trimble, Chinanu Onuaku, Abdul-Malik Abu, Jared Terrell, Alec Brennan, Traci Carter, Derrick Jones, Samir Doughty, Isaiah Briscoe, Tariq Owens, Montaque Gill-Caesar, Tyus Battle, Paschal Chukwu

Looking Forward To: This is a solid Northeast event featuring some top Under Armour and Nike teams from the area. One thing that will be interesting is which big impresses more, will it be Chinanu Onuaku or Paschal Chukwu. Both are excellent rebounders and shot blockers. Also how will some of the young guards like Samir Doughty, Traci Carter, and Tyus Battle play to close out the recruiting period. Beyond that will any sleepers emerge from an area that doesn’t produce many of them?

AAU Super Showcase/Nationals
Where: Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Dates: July 23-28
Top Teams: Upward Stars, Team Final, All-Ohio Red, King James Shooting Stars, Houston Hoops, Each 1 Teach 1, Howard Pulley, Atlanta Xpress, BABC, Georgia Stars, South Carolina Raptors, Boo Williams, Team Thad, Baltimore Elite, Alabama Challenge, Southern Kings, Southern Stampede, Houston Defenders, Arkansas Wings, Charlotte Nets

Top Players: Tyus Jones, Perry Dozier, Tevin Mack, JaQuan Newton, Malachi Richardson, Jae’sean Tate, Luke Kennard, V.J. King, Jarvis Johnson, Justise Winslow, Justin Jackson, Kelly Oubre, Leron Black, Chris Chiozza, Devin Booker, Joe Burton, Joel Berry, Devin Mitchell, D’Angelo Russell, Devin Robinson, Grayson Allen, Mikal Bridges, Robert Johnson, Skal Labissiere, Malik Monk

Looking Forward To: As always the Disney Wide World of Sports will be busy with top talent. The Super Showcase and AAU Nationals at the 16 and 17 and under level will all be going on. It will be interesting to see how Jawun Evans does, he is a point guard in the 2015 class getting a ton of attention. Also can Mathew Fisher-Davis continue to assert himself as a top 100 player. Beyond that how do some of the elite kids look. There are five-stars all over the field, will they step up, or will they be playing out the string?

I thought Jordan Hamilton was a gunner. Brother Daniel likes to shoot it even more. UConn commit talented, needs to make better decisions.

Great game now with 5 potential pros: Emmanuel Mudiay, Stephen Zimmerman, Malik Newman, Tyler Dorsey, Daniel Hamilton.

Daniel Hamilton has never seen a shot he did not like.

We better land Abu!! Lol KO is not letting him get away. I hope we make a strong push for Chukwu too. IMO our top targets should be Abu (Robinson as a plan B), Chukwu, Perkins/McLaughlin, then Oubre.

ESPNU should've showed this Belmont Shore/Mo Williams Elite game instead of the one they had on earlier with Tyus Jones's AAU squad

That game sounded crazy. Scores in the 100's. Dorsey with 35 and a bunch of possible future pros.

I don't know, I think Robinson should be made a priority in the same regard as Abu. He's ranked as a five star on rivals and top 30 on scout. His recent quote also makes it sound like he's leaning towards UConn, or that we're at least a school he's seriously interested in. If KO shows him the same amount of love he's showing Abu, I think he's ours. Of course, I'd love to have either, I just don't view this kid as any type of backup option. JMO.

Agreed. I see Devin Robinson and Abu as two completely different players.

I wonder what Hamilton's FG% was, Goodman seems to be the only one bitching about his play

Goodman's description of Jordan Hamilton as a "gunner" is also a bit harsh. The kid averaged 19 and 8 as a sophomore and shot 39% from three. I'll sign up for that any day from Daniel two years from now, assuming he's around.

Live in AC: Day One

Abdul-Malik Abu, PF, Expressions Elite – Even without food or water in his system due to Ramadan, Abu dominated the action. Always someone who plays hard and with athleticism, Abu attacked the rim off the bounce and also finished over defenders. With his team completely overwhelming the opponent, Abu took full advantage and completely and totally dominated on both ends of the floor with his combination of strength, skill, and athleticism.

Jared Terrell, SF, Expressions Elite – While Abu was the star of the show, Terrell wasn’t too far behind him. Terrell almost hurt himself on a dunk, but outside of that there wasn’t much negative from his performance. He hit a few shots, but mostly it was straight line drives to the rim where he would overpower defenders and finish with athleticism.

Abdul-Malik Abu and Jared Terrell attracted Kevin Ollie, Danny Hurley, Eddie Jordan, and assistants from St. John’s, NC State, Providence, Florida, and Kansas State.

I think its possible we get both. Abu is can play the true PF role and Robinson the stretch 4. I would be too hype if this happened.

I think it would be more likely with Hamilton at SG, Robinson at SF, and Abu at PF.

I have been thinking that all along as well. Unlike some others I don't think center is a must in this class if UCONN pulls in a Abu

Interesting...do we make a play for this kid?

JoshGershon
Cliff Robinson's son, 2015 center Isaiah Robinson from ICP Portland, is a player. 6-9, long arms, shot blocking machine - 8 in 1st half here
