the offense is designed as a drive and dish style, but the problem is that Hamilton, Gibbs, and Purvis cannot beat a chair off the dribble. so they run high pick and roll and end up passing it around the perimeter. teams play 8 feet off Hamilton and he never takes the shot off the pick. so he forces the ball into the lane where three guys are waiting and he takes a tough contested shot or makes a bad pass. Neither Gibbs nor Purvis can finish. the ONLY guard who can is Adams. Yet he never plays (two fouls today). so unless the skip pass gets an open three, it results in a force in the waning seconds of the shot clock.
its sad when teams like Providence and Seton Hall and Xavier and Creighton and Tulsa and Houston and temple and name me about 20 other mid-major teams have more talent than Uconn. Feels like the new normal and not an anomaly.
