On @Plebe's list (above, Post #2) from SaturdayTexas Tech Lady Raiders add Oklahoma State Cowgirls transfer Vivian Gray.
One of the best players in the Big 12 is staying in the conference but changing schools for the 2020-21 season after Texas Tech announced Vivian Gray's addition as a graduate transfer.

Mississippi State transfer Jayla Hemingway was granted immediate eligibility at WVU:
Covid? That’s the answer for everything 2020.Wow. I’m curious the rationale.
Another waiver:
Luckily this was preceded by Yeaney's ruling at Arizona. Looks like here we go again with another round of some are granted immediate eligibility, some aren't, for no apparent reason.![]()

Haha - the Shepard Rule.Just wanted to let you hear this straight from the Domer's mouth:
Dara Mabrey's appeal was accepted and she can play in 2020-21. She'll also have 21-22.
From this Irish fan's perspective, this was fortuitous timing because this is the year ND needed a point/lead guard, with Marta Sniezek gone and Olivia Miles not coming until 2021. Dara can man this with assistance from combo guard Kaitlyn Gilbert and frosh Alasia Hayes, but Iv'e got to think this is what Niele Ivey was hoping for.
On that note, I'll exit stage right before Jess Shepard's name is invoked...

Hey Dillion, I thought Dara was more a “2” than a PG, so are there any concerns on this move? I am not sure what to make of this young team, can they move the ball, who can shoot? Who can rebound and most important who can play defense? How will Niele handle being the totp dog? This seems like anywhere from a league contender to a lower 3rd ACC finish.
) Frosh-wise: forward Westbeld can shoot deep, but me thinks mid-range is her forte. And frosh guard/wing Alli Campbell is another shooter with range.
Stay tuned. If Shemera hasn't landed yet, it's not for lack of offers. Must be taking her time to decide -- she was a late announcer, in mid-August -- or maybe she's considering opting out this year.I’m surprised Shemara Williams hasn’t landed somewhere yet. Talented sophomore guard.
I had a feeling Oklahoma State would try to block their former players from receiving immediate eligibility at another Big 12 program:
If OSU is in fact trying to block immediate eligibility, I can totally understand their position. They lost 2 transfers to another Big 12 school. The Big 12 has rules in place for a reason, and the players decided to transfer knowing about those rules.Raoul seems puzzled, but if I understand the situation correctly, even a grad transfer needs to get cleared by their former school for immediate eligibility in an intra-Big 12 transfer. Similar to how Tech last year initially blocked DeGrate's bid for immediate eligibility at Baylor, before finally relenting.
That is the intra-conference transfer rule in all Big 12 sports as voted when the conference was formed back in 1996. So, student-athletes should be aware of that rule prior to transferring. The only ones who have a right to complain are those schools who voted against the rule when it was up for discussion many years ago. Furthermore, an intra-conference transfer also loses one year of eligibility (believe that is still in force); the exception being grad-transfers. So, Gerlich's daughter, Bryn will lose one year of eligibility as an undergraduate intra-conference transfer. So let me get this straight...if Littel actually was a good coach with a significantly better conference record than his paltry 76-86 in 10 year, and he wanted to coach at Texas when their position was open, would he have to sit out a year? The answer of course is NO he would not. This reeks of the hypocrisy that faced Saban when he tried to block a second string player from going to Georgia considering how many jobs he abandoned mid contract.
It’s a STUPID rule and is against the free market. All writers should be deluging this the coach with questions and pointed comments. So much for having the students best interest at heart.
To me, it’s time for Littel to lose this job anyway, he’s not been great in conference, pads his OOC with cupcakes to get 20 wins and now this? As Michael Kay says “See ya”
Unlike the Big 12, the Southeastern Conference last summer passed a specific amendment addressing graduate transfers between member institutions. Per the SEC rule, any transfer who has completed their undergraduate degree is immediately eligible if they transfer within the conference. There is no language mentioning graduate transfers in the Big 12’s bylaws, therefore leaving them under the same set of rules as undergraduate transfers.“Any consent given relating to intraconference transfer may be unconditional or conditioned on the student-athlete completing an academic year in residence at the second Member Institution before competing,” per Big 12 rules
Southie, I am well aware of the rule and am saying It’s a freakin stupid rule that needs to be abolished. That beings said a coach can AND SHOULD NOT block another player from transferring to another Big 12 school. That is the intra-conference transfer rule in all Big 12 sports as voted when the conference was formed back in 1996. According to section 6.3.1 of the Big 12 bylaws, a student-athlete transferring between member institutions must sit out a year of competition unless they receive a written waiver from the athletic director of their original school.
“Any consent given relating to intraconference transfer may be unconditional or conditioned on the student-athlete completing an academic year in residence at the second Member Institution before competing,” the rule states.
