I would say that's usually the case when your boss tells you that you are hiring this guy no matter what.Pretty sure Randy and Locksley did not have a good relationship

Maybe so. But it eliminates a lot of unrealistic speculation mentioned here. DO for instance. Others considered boy geniuses or young up and comers as well.Only a few hundred coordinators out there with 5....better yet 7 years experience.
Yeah, there is. Five years minimum, seven preferred.

At the collegiate and/or professional level. Agreed, does not have to have coordinator experience. I would guess that it is unlikely they will hire someone without OC experience, though. It might be at the FCS level, but I doubt a position coach would get the job.It only mentions football coach experience. There is nothing in the above information I copied and pasted from the actual job posting that mentions OC experience. It also does eliminate DO from the job due to him not having the years of coaching experience listed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; minimum of five years’ experience as a football coach at the collegiate FBS, or NFL within the past 10 years; working knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and excellent organizational, teaching, communication and public relations skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Seven years of experience as a football coach at the collegiate and/or professional level.

Agree 100%!!! We have seen that production already....if we get an OC that's never been an OC then I'm going to be pissed
Don't want a retread either. Hoping for younger guy.if we get an OC that's never been an OC then I'm going to be pissed
I dont believe this link is behind the paywall. Among Rutty's final candidates - the current UNH OC. Yep, a candidate without G5 or P5 experience.
I'm with you....but some think its crazy or just doesn't happen. They had a really good team this year. High level FCS is legit, I'd def take an OC from a good FCS team
I want Benedict involved. In hope we don't return to a ball control scheme in this league. This is basically the big 12 lite. Need to score to win.Anyone else think Dave Benedict has a say in this hire?! Or is this solely an Edsall hire?

We did it last year with Crocker.
Someone can recommend/submit the name of another individual-if interested, our "search group" could then reach out to that person. Happens occasionally. What does "accepting nominations" mean?
He has never been a QB coach...RE filled the 10th Asst spot with a full time special teams coach so whom ever he tries as OC is going to be coaching the QB's like Rhett did.

Prince bounced around a LOT for multiple short stays, but he's held the following roles and others listed in the attached Detroit Lions' bio: Boise St OC 2011-13, Passing Coordinator 2003, Colorado Pass Game Coordinator 2010, the aforementioned Portland St OC/QB 1999-2000, Japanese X League OC 96-97, Fort Lewis College OC/QB 94-95, etc.Prince was a OC/QB coach at Portland State.
Didn't Conlin get the Fordham HC job?Based on Pitt alum, Southington resident Joe Conlin's Yale bio, he's coached at Yale (6 years), Harvard (1 year), UNH (6-7), and WV Tech (1).

My Conlin post was a response to Dream Jobbed 2.0 suggestion. Thanks medic.Replaced Breiner who replaced Moorhead...
DB is RE’s boss. Of course he’ll have a say in who is hired. He’s the safety net to protect against a WTF guy. RE will have to sell his choice to DB. If DB isn’t buying, he won’t be hired.Anyone else think Dave Benedict has a say in this hire?! Or is this solely an Edsall hire?
I think he’s a great candidate. A lot of people wanted him this time last year. What say you on :
Donnie Kirkpatrick.
OC and QB coach at James Madison ??
JMU offense looked pretty impressive last 2 years.
