winning yesterday in the play in game (FIRST ROUND).
Mikayla Blakes and K. Pierre with big games and Iyanna Moore with
over 20 points, much over her average. It is the first time that
Vandy has beaten Tenn twice in the same season in YEARS. Earlier
the Commodores beat TENN 71 - 70. GO SHEA RALPH!! South

I think UCONN’s #1 seed chances hinge on both South Carolina/Notre Dame losing early in their conference tournaments rather than Tennessee being considered a bad loss. TBH I don’t think there’s a notable advantage being the 4th #1 vs a high 2 seed. Playing any of Texas, South Carolina, USC, Notre Dame or UCLA in the Elite 8 feels like a toss up any way you cut it

It was a very bad loss. Horrible loss.

Tenn unlikely to host 1st round games now. They play a unique style and run risk of losses if opponent does not turn it over, or they are cold from 3.

Tenn will though still be a Quad1 loss for UConn, so should not hugely impact UConn's seed.

How can a loss to a ranked team on their home court, that was still a ranked team in the final AP poll be a "bad" loss? I have never heard a pundit call a loss to a ranked team on their home court a bad loss, so what am I missing?

The difference in perspective of the UConn loss to Tennessee on February 6, 2025 as opposed to March 6, 2025 is staggering. Especially now that UConn is a team clearly on the rise and playing as well, if not better, than any team of the four teams that will end up as top seeds on March 16th.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Tennessee picked up so many fouls, they also had 24 the first time they played Vanderbilt. Looking at the box scores from Tennessee games this year, this is a fairly common occurrence and most likely for the reason you suggest. Fortunately for Vandy that even when they were turning the ball over in the 4th quarter, Tennessee kept fouling Mikayla Blake - an 88% FT shooter.

Lol I'm all for kicking them out of the tournament but they do still have a win over UConn, plus 5 other Quad 1 wins. Go look at the actual bubble teams and compare resumes. If we wanted them not to make the tournament we shouldn't have laid an egg to them.

Wins over UConn, FSU and NC State with close losses to the SEC front runners makes them tournament worthy.
