This was Vanderbilt # 8 seed over Tennessee # 9 seed. Tennessee
winning yesterday in the play in game (FIRST ROUND).
Mikayla Blakes and K. Pierre with big games and Iyanna Moore with
over 20 points, much over her average. It is the first time that
Vandy has beaten Tenn twice in the same season in YEARS. Earlier
the Commodores beat TENN 71 - 70. GO SHEA RALPH!! South
Carolina, I think, is up next.

Great game by Vandy, and the announcers said it's the first time EVER that Vandy has beaten Tennessee twice in the same year. Tennessee fans will cry about the foul disparity (12-24) but Tenn plays an in your face full court pressing game while Vandy does not. And Vandy dumped the ball into the post a lot while Tenn jacked up 29 3-pointers...

Does Tennessee's loss to Vanderbilt now make UConn's path to a #1 seed more tenuous? Tennessee has now lost three of its last four games; A blowout loss to Top 25 Kentucky, a three point loss to an awful Georgia team, and today's 8 point loss to a decent Vanderbilt team. Which makes UConn's loss to Tennessee a very bad loss. IMO, if South Carolina and Texas play in the SEC final, and if USC and Notre Dame win their respective conference championships, UConn becomes a 2 seed. If UCLA wins the Big Ten Tournament, then UConn drops further down in their number 2 slot. If NC State wins the ACC Tournament, UConn drops another notch down; all due to today's Tennessee loss.

Speculating here would be loads more fun if UConn was a bubble team hoping that chalk holds form.

I think UCONN’s #1 seed chances hinge on both South Carolina/Notre Dame losing early in their conference tournaments rather than Tennessee being considered a bad loss. TBH I don’t think there’s a notable advantage being the 4th #1 vs a high 2 seed. Playing any of Texas, South Carolina, USC, Notre Dame or UCLA in the Elite 8 feels like a toss up any way you cut it

It was a very bad loss. Horrible loss.

But TN losing to Vandy is glorious news.

It would not be fun here in the Boneyard, if UConn was a bubble team.

It's not fun if UConn only wins by 20, but slips a bit in Q4.

Congrats to Shea and Vanderbilt, they are building a nice program there, with more help coming in next year!

Tenn unlikely to host 1st round games now. They play a unique style and run risk of losses if opponent does not turn it over, or they are cold from 3.

Tenn will though still be a Quad1 loss for UConn, so should not hugely impact UConn's seed.

No way the Lady Vols are hosting the first 2 rounds of the NCAA tournament. losing 3 of your last 4 is no way to go into the NCAA tournament. They are well outside of the top 16 now.
