O.T. Vanderbilt 84 over Tennessee 76 in SEC second round

NC State?
Was wondering about that too but maybe we can throw Iowa in there as a "quality win" for the Lady Vols? They are 22-9 and beat USC. They also beat Bama, who is pretty good.

Yes they have 6 Quad 1 wins: UConn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida State, Iowa, Richmond. (4 home games, 2 neutral, zero road).

They looked like a lock to host in the last reveal at #12, but the blowout at Kentucky, the loss at home to Georgia, and now the loss to Vanderbilt has them likely at a 5 seed, maybe 6.

Can someone explain why the game that we're discussing in this thread is not available for viewing as a replay on ESPN+? I see other games from the SEC Tournament (e.g., Mississippi - Mississippi State and Alabama-Florida) available there but not this one.

Is it perhaps viewable later, perhaps next week?

Geno told Shea to let him know when they are ready to play us. Next year may be the right time, but if he does do that, and with the increase of conference games next year, would they be good enough to help our net? Either way, I would like to see that game, in Nashville. That may be the biggest crowd they will ever get.

Does our NET need help? We're currently at #1.

What we do need is quality wins. Given that about 40% of our nonconference slate this year was against Holy Cross, Fairleigh Dickinson, Boston University, Oregon State and South Florida, I'd say Vanderbilt would make the cut at this point.

Many of the teams that UConn used to schedule are now in the Super Conferences and have fewer games available to play OOC. While they have a choice now of not scheduling UConn because of the offset of having more teams in their conference they are able to build their resume without having to schedule top OOC games, like UConn.

If their two stars don’t transfer, they will be a Quad 1

“Used to schedule”? Is there any team that specifically discontinued its series with UConn as a result of the latest realignment. We still played ND, SC, Louisville, TN, UNC, … I’m struggling to think of a team we used to play in OOC but no longer do because of mega conferences.

Talking about next year

Those contracts were already in effect as home and home. Next year we have USC in LA and Tennessee at home, but the others, except for the HOF game, were the second game of a two game series. We will see when the next schedule comes up, but it could be kind of iffy on some of these teams.

UConn used to play on average 8 to 12 good non conference teams like Stanford, Baylor, LSU, Florida State, Duke, Ohio State and others, this year I believe that we only played 7 which two of them were because of tournaments. I believe that there are only 3 teams that have played UConn the last 5 seasons, South Carolina, Lousiville, and Notre Dame.

For some reason, the Tennessee-Vanderbilt game from Thursday (remember, that was the original subject of this thread) has appeared as an available replay on ESPN+, after not having been listed for the last two days. I'm not sure when I will watch it, but I definitely will.
