Name a University bordered by a river. I'll start: Baylor-Brazos River

.-.
Oregon St. and Oregon are both really close to the Willamette River.

U. of Portland is up on a bluff...above the Willamette River.

Portland St. is pretty close to the Willamette too.

Dang, I never realized all 4 major universities in Oregon were all so close to the same river.

.-.
If we do lakes I've got one really close to me that is right on a big lake--the football stadium overlooks it and there is a local phenomenon known as sailgaiting, as opposed to tailgaiting.

.-.
.-.
Seattle Pacific Univ. is on a major shipping canal that connects Lake Washington and Lake Union to the Puget Sound. Not quite a river per se, but it looks like one.

Colleges along lake:
Wellesley College , Lake Waban, one of the prettiest college I have seen.

Cornell University , Cayuga Lake.

University of Notre Dame, St. Joseph’s Lake and St. Mary’s Lake.

University of Wisconsin-Madison, Lake Mendota and Lake Monona.

Colleges along lake:

Okay, I hinted at it but you started it officially. Univ. of Washington on Lake Washington. Husky Stadium is often at or near the top of lists for best settings for a football stadium in CFB.

Montana is on the Clark Fork River (if you ever drive thru a significant chunk of Montana, the Clark Fork seems to be EVERYWHERE).
