I could have sworn Kansas beat us, but...I could have sworn we beat a team from North Caroline that wears sky blue unis ...
I must have been hallucinating.

Then expound on your argument. Explain the benefits? Do you have any?I think you're insane
The men and women were #1 at the same time for a week or two, which was amazing and possibly unprecedented. The AP doesn't have a poll after the tournament, so what you suggest has never happened.
Let people enjoy this. Everyone agrees that the most important poll is in April, but I really liked 1995 and it was cool that they were #1 that year even though they lost in the Elite 8.
But those squirrels don't matterDon't worry. The team gets all the disrespect it needs right here in this forum.
That's the spirit!Johnson is averaging 6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. I would have hoped for more on someone with wall potential. Gonna be hard to hold #1 without Clingan and maybe even with him.
I think at that time it was the first time ever. It's happened since then (I think with Duke), but some people have internalized the "mediocre regular season--win the championship" rhythm of the last few UConn titles as the way it should be. I want to dominate both! And one does not mitigate the other. I want to be #1 wire-to-wire. I want to be the first undefeated team since Indiana 1976, just like I want to be the first back-to-back team since Florida 06-07.The men and women were #1 at the same time for a week or two, which was amazing and possibly unprecedented.
They're harem pants. That ankle skirt is fantastic
No argument on that. So’s that diaper.
They went from huge shorts to short shorts and it now feels like they found that goldilocks zone...

Holiday Inn shorts, cuz they got no ball room
The hilarious thing is these people all cry about how we're not treated like Duke, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and of course a big reason we're not is because those schools all have way more total wins, been #1 in the AP poll way more weeks, more finals appearances, more final 4s, etc.The AP doesn't have a poll after the tournament, so what you suggest has never happened.

Quinones should start every game charged with a technical foul for wearing those shorts
You are probably right, there is a poll which must be a coaches poll. I do like having a 1 next to our name howeverThe AP doesn't have a poll after the tournament, so what you suggest has never happened.

I'd go with culottes. They're harem pants.
The coaches poll 100% comes out after the season. it is less prestigious, but still cool. You are probably right, there is a poll which must be a coaches poll. I do like having a 1 next to our name however
It's 100% because these are exactly the sorts of people/fans who just constantly want to play victim constantly about everything. It's a conspiratorial mindset. Conference realignment—and other things—have caused it, but it's rampant in this particular fanbase, even though it is not unique to it.The hilarious thing is these people all cry about how we're not treated like Duke, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and of course a big reason we're not is because those schools all have way more total wins, been #1 in the AP poll way more weeks, more finals appearances, more final 4s, etc.
And then when we accomplish one of those things, those same people are like "you're lame for caring about that".
First off, ranked #1 any time after having a bunch of meaningful games under one's belt is awesome!#1 -Nice accomplishment for this team. Very pleasantly surprised by the AP vote.
In the big picture it is not all that important but some recruits will notice. And it will have an positive affect on the overall perception of the program. Savor the flavor.
Kemba is wearing a Swiss trachtThey went from huge shorts to short shorts and it now feels like they found that goldilocks zone...

Or SyracuseCome on, don't be overly dramatic. UConn was not a "dumpster fire of a program." The program was on a downward trajectory and changes were needed. And the AD made a quick move to stop the downward trajectory.
UConn was only 2 years removed from an NCAA Tournament appearance. Only 4 years removed from a national championship. That's so ridiculous calling them a dumpster fire. You want dumpster fire? Go look at what is going on in Louisville.
It’s why preseason rankings are relatively silly. Takes too long for unexpected performance for better or worse to move as fast as they should Up or down Maybe start ranking after 8-10 games. Obviously Seton Hall seems to deserve more recognition. Anyway, I don’t get overly excited over being #1 as nice as it is. As has been pointed out, UConn has been NC a few times without ever being ranked first.28th and 29th in both polls but they should be at least 5 spots higher, at least. Sadly if they go 1-1 they will fall further than they would rise by going 2-0, guaranteed. Pre season ranking is sometimes too big of a hole for some teams that end up solid to climb out of.
To be fair, Kansas could say the same thing about us.How UNC got a #1 vote when we beat them is astounding
