But we never considered talent as the most important factor it was how the group complimented each other.
It takes talent to be a complementary player.

Easier to just be an iso player not looking for teammates who are open for a shot or cutting to the basket or who have good inside post position.

Dunno. If we can find a way to beat Dayton, then by the transitive property we would have played Auburn closely.
Well then we lost to Colorado which got smacked by ISU which lost to Auburn

A little concerning that Memphis and Colorado both got absolutely smoked and stomped tonight by Auburn and Iowa St. Big gap between ISU /Auburn and Uconn, clearly. Huskies should improve but tough roe to hoe...

3 hard games in 3 nights is tough on any team But Auburn is for real.

CBB is crazy and extrapolating your results against a team to how they then perform vs another team as to how you would do vs that other team is probably not the best idea

yeah no kidding but that’s exactly what you did. your logic was doubly flawed because even if the transitive property wasn’t malarkey it doesn’t apply in our favor

I'm not focusing on you. I'm telling you it's ridiculous we don't have as much talent as Colorado. It's year 7 for Hurley, we should have more talent than the Buffaloes.

We have no players coming in with wiggle next year as well. It's going to take several recruiting cycles to make us competitive.
SJ definitely has sound key strokes and awsome punctuation in his Boneyard game but his vocab could use some wiggle.

Separately Xavier getting smoked, PC loses and Creighton loses. We may be looking at an all time bad conference strength ranking going into BE play. Who’s got Yormarks beeper number?

Yes. Iowa st would’ve beaten us by 20+ . Their defense is elite. I’m glad we avoided playing them.

I saw this about Gonzaga from other posters, then they lost to WVU as 16 point favorites.

Maybe there’s really no “that team would kill us, we have no chance” situations, but what do I know.

Had hoped the big12 invite would be delivered after the final four lol.

That was the joke...

A lot of big programs now have multiple losses. It's going to be that kind of year.

Cadeau missed a wide open layup and UNC should've lost to Sparty.

Now Sparty inexplicably let's UNC shoot a 3 with 5 seconds left to tie it.

I officially hate this tournament and really don't want to stay up for the delayed start.

Mich St. Looked real good till the last two min. After not fouling up 3, that last play was a hot mess.

Is this a good data point to show how bad they played yesterday? Would the Huskies have gotten steamrolled like this if they had pulled out the win against Colorado? Tough to say since the transitive property doesn't always work that way.

Would rather get steamrolled by Iowa St than steamrolled by Dayton!

Haven’t said this in about a decade but Louisville/West Virginia is pretty fun! Going to OT

I can not remember a season where one league looked as dominant out of the gate as the SEC looks this season.

Kinda controversial ending in the Butler-Northwestern game last night. Butler went for the foul while up 3 with about 5 seconds left, and, at least to me, it seemed like the Northwestern kid was pretty clearly in a shooting motion and banked in the shot. Refs ended up calling it on the floor.

So much for it being a football conference. I went to the college WS this year in Omaha, which was evenly split between SEC schools and ACC. SEC fans are different. They have mastered the art of a tailgate, come in bunches and are colorful and loud. ACC fans are wine and cheese comparatively. Peyton Manning and Morgan Wallen were both there and buzzing around in golf carts afterwards, routing for Tenn (who won the whole thing). The culture/pride in sports in those states is supercharged. It’s lots of fun, and easy to admire. With the $$ that conference has and the overall passion in that region no reason to think they don’t maintain hold. When you see it with your own eyes, even in baseball, you get it quickly. I haven’t been to an SEC football game but based on what I saw in Omaha, I’d imagine it’s 50x the energy.

Houston loses in OT to San Diego State. Now 4-3 on the season.
Clearly most of the pundits out there underestimated the value of Jamal Shead. It’s hard to replace the heart and soul of a team. Also shows how important the PG position is in college hoops.
