Karaban is in his 4th year of collegeGuess you do not root for Karaban nor JF for football. In today’s era of college revenue sports this is becoming common.

Auburn is one thing - Few has to get creative. I'm not sure I can blame how he operates.Reminds me of Auburn last year.
Isn't it 5th?Karaban is in his 4th year of college
Isn't it 5th?
Karaban is in his 4th season of cbb after redshirting for a semester, Fagnano started playing cfb in 2019, how are those two cases the same? I don't think anyone has an issue with guys playing their normal 4 years, its when you start seeing guys doing 6 years and more where it just starts getting ridiculous.Guess you do not root for Karaban nor JF for football. JF is in his seventh year. He pointed out someone that was 23 years old. I always pull for Gonzaga as long as they are not playing UConn or another Big East team. I hope one day Gonzaga and Mark Few win the NCAAT as long as it's not at UConn's expense.Mark Few is truly a genius coach. If not UConn, I hope the Zags finally cut down the nets.

So do you root for JF who is in his 7th year and is 25 years old?Bingo
I guess I'm defining "very good" as they were selected first in the MAAC coaches' preseason poll and just picked up a road win over a top 100 team in Pitt. They are very dangerous.Quinnipiac is rated around 200. I guess it matters how you define very good. It is just amazing how bad Rutgers and BCU are.
Also, Gonzaga has built such a strong basketball brand. In 1999, they were the out of nowhere lovable Cinderella that knocked off giants and gave #1 UConn all it could take in the Elite 8. They followed that up the next year and advanced to the Sweet 16 after knocking off #2 St. John's, but they were still a Cinderella that got to the NCAAT 2 years in a row. But after making the NCAAT every year and also getting high seeds on some years which resulted in them getting the Elite 8 and then the NCAA title game twice, they are no longer a Cinderella and have not been considered that for a long time now.All mid majors will slip. It's what makes what Few does so amazing. He's so creative in his recruitment, between international, portal and HS. Dutcher doesn't do that.
They have played exceptionally well. Pretty amazing them and CCSU are beating ACC and Big 10 teams given disparity in resources.I guess I'm defining "very good" as they were selected first in the MAAC coaches' preseason poll and just picked up a road win over a top 100 team in Pitt. speaking of which, Chad Baker-Mazara is playing for USC. That also means he has returned to Maui from last year's tournament, so he has played back to back tournaments in Maui.Reminds me of Auburn last year.
Karaban just turned 23, instead of the normal 22 for a senior, because he repeated 8th grade. Not for academic reasons. He went to a Catholic middle-high school that allowed 8th graders to play on the high school varsity team.JF is in his seventh year. He pointed out someone that was 23 years old. Karaban is 23 years old.
Will be old enough to get kicked off his parents insurance by the end of the season!!!speaking of which, Chad Baker-Mazara is playing for USC. That also means he has returned to Maui from last year's tournament, so he has played back to back tournaments in Maui.
Amen. F the P4 (unless/until we’re a member).I always pull for Gonzaga as long as they are not playing UConn or another Big East team. I hope one day Gonzaga and Mark Few win the NCAAT as long as it's not at UConn's expense.
Me too. I slept on Gonzaga entering this season (didn't think they had the firepower and Saint Mary's was much better), but this is arguably Mark Few's deepest team in years as they'll regularly go nine-deep.Matt Norlander thinks they can go to the Final Four.

We underrated Gonzaga. Mark Few appears to have another team with Final Four DNA
The Bulldogs got off to a great start at Players Era with a double-digit win over No. 8 Alabama late Monday nightwww.cbssports.com
Creigton looks like they could get run - they're not very good. Bubble team at best. I don't know how far they fall in the league because they have McDermott (who seems to dislike his team), but their roster is really meh. They lost a ton with Kalk/Neal/Ashworth, and now don't have McAndrews. These Iowa kids didn't even make the tournament last year, how good can they be?Iowa State / Creighton, truTV
We turned it down this year. We are making more playing in Boston and New York twice.![]()
New Era: Big 12 nets $50M NIL hoops event deal
Big 12 announced Monday that it will get eight automatic bids to the Players Era Festival, in coming years, which will give every participant a guaranteed $1 million NIL payout.www.espn.com
"They're giving us $1 million," Cougars coach Kelvin Sampson said. "That's why we're there, and I would say that's why all the teams are there. We didn't sign up for this to have a tournament where we could play each other. We signed up for this because they're giving us $1 million. If they decided to put a court down at some vacant lot and they'd give us $1 million, I'd go play there, too.”
Can we get an invite please???
Well they beat St John and are running Creighton out of the gym. Creighton cannot rebound nor stop dribble penetration.Creigton looks like they could get run - they're not very good. Iowa State is ranked #15 and just beat #14 St. Johns. I think they are pretty good. Brand has to start somewhere, and the challenges remain. UCLA & Indiana have great brands and haven't touched Gonzaga's consistency. It's all Few. Will be interesting to see how far the brand takes them once he retires. Also, Gonzaga has built such a strong basketball brand. In 1999, they were the out of nowhere lovable Cinderella that knocked off giants and gave #1 UConn all it could take in the Elite 8. In addition to what I wrote above, another thing that helps their brand is they always play tough out of conference opponents, which not only gives them more national exposure, but it gives the necessary high level competition that they did not face in the WCC.
