First time I've seen video on Barker, I like her. She can run the fast break and she goes to the basket with the ball held high in one hand like Maya use to. I never saw Maya get that shot blocked. Barker is the kind of player that can put you in "early" foul trouble with those drives to the basket.

I can see why some here are high on Barker. She's nice. A 6'2" F junior ranked #2 (position rank #1) in the class of 2022. She'll have her choice of schools also. I'd like to see her in person.
She looks like KD when she goes to the hoop: Fluid, ball high, sick and slick with both hands. She's nice man.

Then it's settled for me Ice, Betts, Barker, and Rice. I'm done shopping
Wow! I would be very happy with far less, partly because of the numbers crunch. As the known roster stands now, I would be happy with one from Betts, Barker and Patterson to go with Ice, and one from Rice, Bransford or Jackson. I haven't seen enough video of Betts, but wonder if maybe Barker is in fact number 1 in that class, and Jackson might be a more versatile wing fit for us than the other two.

North Raleigh Christian: The Knights have one of the state’s best players in 6-foot-3 junior all-state center Imani Lester (17 ppg, 11 rpg, 3 bpg, major Division I recruit), who can dominate a game on both sides of the court.

Imani Lester, North Raleigh Christian: The 6-3 all-state junior center is already a two-time TISAC player of the year, and has narrowed her college choices to 12 schools, including perennial power Connecticut. She is the daughter of former N.C. State basketball standout and North Raleigh Christian girls’ basketball coach Avie Lester.

Under Head Coach Geno Auriemma, Saylor will join a class of commits, that feature former St. John’s grad, Azzi Fudd, No. 5 ranked Caroline Ducharme, and No. 15 ranked Amari DeBerry.

“It’s cool cause we are all friends, and we know each other and it’s not like we’re going – how it used to be. Used to be we all reported to campus and we met each other then.” said Saylor, “I think that is one thing that is special with this group. We all knew each other previously, we’ve all gone to camps together, we’ve all gone to teams together. I’m really excited.”

This podcast from PBR's Shane Laflin and Jason Key is from April but I missed it at the time.

It's 36 minutes discussing their favorite 2022 prospects. They throw every positive adjective in the book at Isuneh Brady starting at the 6:45 mark.

Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, and KK Bransford are also mentioned.

Game Stats: Tampa Bay Tech: #2 Janiah Barker - 27 Pts #30 Amiya Evans - 25 Pts
..........................Seffner Christian: #2 Kailyn Gilbert - 46 Pts

Kailyn Gilbert is extremely talented. A bit wild at times, but great talent

That was a great listen regarding Ice Brady, even if it was from April! I have been hoping for some Isuneh updates, thank you for posting.

Friday Night Lights Showcase review from Prospects Nation, Part II

Caroline Ducharme

Ducharme’s workmanlike attitude every she steps in the gym to train has not gone unnoticed. It’s the type of lunch pail, blue collar outlook on the game that should go over well with the coaching staff in Storrs next season.

Sluconn, could you please post a recap of known Players of Interrest for the '22 '23 & '24 classes ?

Ok, this list isn't comprehensive and it's on the fly at 4:00 in the morning, but it's what I got. Obviously there could be more, or some may even be off UConn's radar that I'm not aware of.

2022:

Kiki Rice
Janiah Barker
KK Bransford
Ayanna Patterson
Ashlon Jackson
Lauren Betts
Imani Lester
Jenna Isai?

2023:

Judea Watkins
Aalyah Del Rosario
T'yana Todd
Madison Booker
Jada Williams
Ashlynn Shade
Chloe Clardy
Malaysia Fulwiley?
Jordan Griggs

2024:

Joyce Edwards

blood may be shed over the two state of SC prospects, Fulwiley and Joyce Edwards.

Barker(?), Betts, Patterson. Del Rosario are purportedly high on Dawn’s wish list. Don’t know about T’yana Todd who lists us among the favorites

Friday Nights Showcase from Prospects Nation Part III

Ashlynn Shade

Shade has proven herself to be one of the nation’s premier backcourt prospects in the class. Whether we’re training in Dallas or Indianapolis, we’re always looking for the next thing to add to her game. Her work ethic is a potential separator and reminds me of former Hoosier State Miss Basketball Ali Patberg.

Clay Kallam's MaxPreps list of the best HS players by state:

Arizona
Jennah Isai, Jr., Valley Vista (Surprise)

A tough, physical 6-0 combo guard who can not only get her own shots, but makes everyone around her better. She's a big reason Valley Vista starts the season in the MaxPreps Top 25.

California
Juju Watkins, So., Windward (Los Angeles)

You'd think that a state as big as California would have some outstanding seniors — and it does — but the 6-0 sophomore is the complete package, and the Golden State's best heading into 2020-21.

Colorado
Lauren Betts, Jr., Grandview (Aurora)

At 6-7, it's not surprising that Betts is a rim protector, but she can get up and down the court as well. And in an age of 3-point specialists, she's a force on the block.

District of Columbia
Azzi Fudd, Sr., St. John's (Washington, D.C.)

Fudd can do it all at both ends of the floor, which is why she's everyone's preseason pick as Player of the Year, and the prize recruit for Geno Auriemma and UConn.

Indiana
Ayanna Patterson, Jr., Homestead (Fort Wayne)

Homestead was 29-2 last year, and the 6-2 Patterson — who adds a mid-range jumper to her heavy lifting around the basket — looks to keep the Spartans in Indiana's upper echelon again this season.

Massachusetts
Caroline Ducharme, Sr., Noble & Greenough (Dedham)

A 6-2 wing who can shoot is special, but Ducharme has an all-around game to go along with the sweet stroke. She'll play for UConn next season.

Maryland
Saylor Poffenbarger, Sr., Middletown

At 6-2, Poffenbarger is a guard, not a post, and she's a shooting guard at that. She's also a solid all-around player who will join a loaded UConn freshman class next year.

Ohio
KK Bransford, Jr., Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati)

At 5-10, Bransford doesn't profile as a power player, but that's exactly who she is. She uses her strength and physicality to get to the rim, and is pretty much unstoppable at the high school level.

South Carolina
Milaysia Fulwiley, So., Keenan (Columbia)

Fulwiley's dazzling numbers as a freshman — 26.4 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 6.3 apg, 6.1 spg — are impressive, and she passes the eye test with flying colors as well. She's one of the top recruits in the country in the Class of 2023.
