No guarantees and not a make or break game but a win here would boost team psyche to the moon and set us up for a run. At the minimum it needs to go down to the wire. What happened at Nova is not acceptable.
 
Thankfully not a must win since we took care of business against X and SHU. But this is the type of game that we need to start winning to make a statement that UConn is back. I need Hurley to show me that he can win these huge games.

We hope we are on the same plane with P and N. And OK, as long as we are close and compete to the end. If it’s a Nova 10 point lead all game that fluctuates with them in no real danger, that’s what I don’t want to see. But the reality of how good we are compared to Providence and Nova will come out thru the BE tourney.

I saw someone say it the other day but they remind me of 2014 Louisville. Just a really bad matchup for us. Getting over the Villanova hump is something we need to do at some point. Not sure if it's tomorrow.

Have to stay out of foul trouble. Last time we played them Whaley and Sanogo each picked up 2 fouls within a couple minutes.

I'll go 65-60 Nova.

I predict we will bitch about the refs. Gillespie will be a thorn in our side. When UConn starts a run somehow Nova will make an improbable basket to prevent it from going too far. You can't foul them either. Their worst FT shooter shoots 73%. They aren't a great defensive team, UConn just has to make shots.

Prediction: OT. Martin wins it on a +1 and Gillespie cries about the foul call.
 
Remember when Prediction Threads were Game Day threads and all responders picked UConn wins because it was the thing?

He had 19 points on 13 shots with 1 assist and 1 turnover. I don't think it's a game that makes you think we have to abandon the previous plan.

I really wish we would play some zone against them. Won’t happen, but mixing it up can’t hurt and keeps RJ from getting backed down
 
Just compete and have a realistic shot to win in the final 2 minutes and I’ll be ok. Get outclassed again, and I’ll be miserable. Where home, in front of a loud, excited, starving fan base. We have practically nothing to lose. This is for seeding. Nova is playing for the conference crown. The pressures on them. If we play loose, and polley and/or Hawkins gets hot. We roll.

Yes, Nova is a tough matchup for us but so could we be for them. Let’s see if Danny tries to prevent Nova from dictating tempo. Let’s see if we can punish them with our size and on the boards? Really need Tyrese and Polley to score. I don’t think we get it done tomorrow.

Uconn could really use this win. We have not beaten a full strength ranked team yet.
 
UConn either wins by 4 or less OR Nova wins by 8 plus
