Prediction: 8-8 this BE season. Let's accept the mediocrity that is the 2011-2012 UCONN Huskies. Will Syracuse lose any players after this season? I hope they do and drop off next year because if they do we're gonna be tough to beat next season. I understand the psyche of a fan. But it still amazes me that there are so many people in this world that insist people outside of themselves provide them with satisfaction. I understand the value of being passionate about something and the Good Lord knows I'm passionate about men's bb. But when it comes down to it, these kids aren't my toys or slaves. They owe me nothing. Their first and primary responsibility is to themselves. They also have an obligation to their coach. Failing that. the coach has a right and obligation to not play them. The university has a right in ensuring the coach follows a certain set of parameters that fit into societies rules. After that there is no claim. But somehow fans believe they have a investment in these kids. I claim that this is BS even if I know most fans won't agree with me. The assertion that someone other than ourselves owes us something is a form of pimping or abstract enslavement. We might as well stalk celebrities with our insistence that players (people outside of ourselves) be obligated to our demands.
