So. Is she able to play for her transfer school in 2025-26?
I think so....she's not a transfer per se if she never enrolled.
Didn't Ionescu wait until late spring before walking into the Oregon gym and committing?

Man, the timelines around this look odd. Wasn't there a recruiting shut down last week that we were debating about? Wouldn't this have fallen into that category?
Kids commit and wait months until they announce.......not sure what makes this odd?

Primarily because the young woman pretty much decommitted from Georgia the week prior to or very close to the recruiting shutdown. That would leave the dead week as the one when prospective colleges could get in touch. Think @cancontent is noting LSU had a pretty small window (s) to get this recruitment done.

And, what makes this even more interesting is Yarnevich didn't have another SEC finalist (Georgia was it): Cal, Georgetown, Pitt, St. John's and Ga. Tech were the other choices. So, that must've been a helluva meet and greet. ;)

To top up on @Dillon77 's post, there's a post, earlier in this thread, where she announced she decommitted May 5th. That was during the recruiting shut down. That's why the timeline seems odd.
Well, maybe she did the Fulwiley plan and got on board by committing without ever seeing LSU. ‍

Still doesn't clarify the dead period part of my confusion
The dead period just means coaches can't contact players. The players, or their agents, can still contact coaches.

Yes, but how this transpired still seems wonky from my perspective.

But the dead period doesn't mean no contact with players. It means no visits and no off-campus contact. You can still communicate with players.

"During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents. In other words, coaches are not allowed to talk to recruits at their college campus, the athlete’s school, an athletic camp or even the grocery store.

While the term 'dead period' makes it seem like all recruiting stops during this time, that’s actually not the case. Athletes and coaches are still allowed to communicate via phone, email, social media and other digital communication channels. While NCAA Division 1 programs are prohibited from conducting any in-person recruiting, D1 college coaches can still contact student-athletes via digital forms of communication during the dead period."

So there’s different definitions for different periods. The most recent was a recruiting shutdown. Not a dead/quiet period. So that means there was no contact allowed, during that first week in May.
