Makeer didn't seem bothered by the leg brace. She also wore it in the McDonald's all American game. Makeer seems more raw as a player and I think she is going to take a few years to develop. I found it interesting that she was the starting PG for team world. I doubt she'll play that role in Dawn's system. Her length was very disruptive on defense with Chavez as her primary assignment. I thought she did a good job of shutting down Chavez. She also has this 3-pointer flop that I've seen over a few games and highlights now. Dawn is going to have to knock that out of her system. She did it in the game, the ref didn't call it, and it led to a fast break point in the other direction while she was picking herself up off the floor.
Yeah, McDowell led team world in points. Another efficient shooting night against great competition. She looks like she'll fit right into Dawn's system. She doesn't force shots and is a good rebounder and defender. She was probably the best 3 point shooter on team world. The stats say she only shot 1-2 from 3 range but I swear it was higher than that (but maybe her toe was on the line). I expect McDowell to get lots of playtime next season as probably the main backup to Tessa at the 3. She was being compared to Shyanne Seller by the announcers and I think that was fair. I also see some Madison Booker in her game.
Awesome! Thanks fo the info.Agot only played 3 games this year prior to the MCDAA game and that was the first game back from injury for her. I’m actually surprised she played just coming back from a PCL tear. Watching her pre injury and now you can tell she was being very cautious about her movement to prevent anything to happen. She didn’t try to go down hill much which is a sign. Once she gets with Molly and adds some weight and strength around the knee you’ll see why she was so highly rated.

After these all star games, ESPN released the final rankings for the 2025 class. Agot moved down from #4 to #7 in the nation and Ayla moved up to #15 from somewhere in the mid-20s (I think she was previously #24).
I agree. Honestly, I would switch Agot's and Ayla's rankings just based on current production but it is easy to see that Agot has a very high ceiling and has yet to tap into her potential.Ayla should’ve been at least top 10 in the class. Her frame, shooting, and size on top of her intangibles, willingness to rebound and defend will definitely get her some early playing time. Can’t wait to see how she blossoms.
Fingers crossed she focuses on rehab and getting ready for the season instead of playing for Canada this summer for Global Jam or U19. Anything knee related makes me nervous.Agot only played 3 games this year prior to the MCDAA game and that was the first game back from injury for her. My paranoia comes from watching Prosper miss a season after playing a heavy Canada Basketball schedule that summer. Time will tell as to whether she does.I hope so too! Honestly think both is a waste of her time now that she’s in the national team pool.
If she were healthy it would be a different story. I know Ayla is competing with the Brazilian national team against WNBA squads so Agot may want to do some summer competition as well.
There are some Bone yarders who should heed your advice.I had to read this about 5 times to figure out what it meant. I wish teenagers would utilize punctuation…
International play is so risky. Duke's two ACL tears on Lawson's watch have happened during (Ari) and right after (VDJ) international play.My paranoia comes from watching Prosper miss a season after playing a heavy Canada Basketball schedule that summer. Time will tell as to whether she does.
It's a tricky dance that's for sure. It's never easy to balance it along with one's college commitments.International play is so risky. Duke's two ACL tears on Lawson's watch have happened during (Ari) and right after (VDJ) international play.
Triad treating me bad.
