Non-UConn recruiting thread - 2025

Olivia Jones, #14 Hoopgurlz, will be announcing her decision today. Top rated player on one of the top high school teams in the country, LUHI. Vandy, Maryland, North Carolina and Miami on her finalist list. In the words of the great Ann Wilson, come on home, girl.

@cancontent, I hope you appreciate that I included a line from my second favorite Canadian in the post. Ann Wilson is in my estimation the greatest female rock singer ever, but she doesn’t know nearly as much about basketball north of the border as you do. 😀

Wasn't aware that Wilson was Canadian. I'm a fan of great bands and Heart is one of them. 😍

Seattle. Canada. What's the difference?
Mind blown. I have always heard them referred to as a Canadian band. Turns out Ann was born in San Diego and attended high school in Seattle. They did record their first album, Dreamboat Annie, in Vancouver and released it a year later in the States, and much of their early touring was in Canada. Not Canadian, though. Almost makes you think you can't believe everything you hear and read. 😫

This is a different finalist list than I've seen. Who knows which is correct. Olivia doesn't say much.

Her name was Lola and she picked LSU

A basketball related play on words with a Barry Manilow banger. 🔥 🔥

Several schools are in play for 2 players, but Oregon is still in the mix for SIX players -- 3 7 15 30 37 96

It'll be interesting to see how the next few weeks unfold. Stanford has two more scholarships for next year, and while we're not desperately in need of recruits with a terrific freshman class and a solid contingent of juniors, we're on the precipice of what has to be the weakest recruiting class I can ever remember Stanford having if we swing and miss on Wynn. I can't actually recall us failing to land a single top 40 recruit in a recruiting cycle, but unless there's a surprise I'm unaware of, we're one miss away from that happening.

I think 2015 was a tough recruiting year for Stanford.

Sniezek the highest ranked, 38th ESPN, 61st by ProspectNation, 47th BSBB
Shannon Coffee, NR ESPN, 3 star PN [not sure of rank[, and 94th by BSBB
Alexa Romano, NR ESPN, NR PN, 178 BSBB
Edit: Alanna Smith was in this class but international. Was reminded of her inclusion by TheFarmFan

Different from this past recruiting class, I'm not sure the 2014 class for Stanford was that strong.

Taylor Rooks (18 ESPN, 60 PN, 27), Brittany McPhee (25 ESPN, 50 PN, 77 BSBB), Kaylee Johnson (30 ESPN, NR PN, 126 BSBB).
