Non-UConn recruiting thread - 2025

Strong? Quiñónez? Cheli? All will get minutes at positions that Woliczko plays. Woliczko is no more proven than the latter two. Sheesh, Patterson is still on roster for crying out loud lol

Woliczko’s dad thinks she’s a 3/4 tweener, which translates to likely being a PF in college, especially at Iowa where she’s going to be one of the taller players on roster.

I think it is. At UConn we have no one proven at the power forward or center position next season (after Serah Williams leaves). The key word is proven. Some players have a chance to claim a spot this season.

I saw an announcement for Woliczko that called her a shooting guard; but no… she is not. She has never played that position. And even a 3 might be a radical change for her.
What are you talking about? You have the best PF in the country, Sarah Strong. Who is only a sophomore.

I think Sarah strong is the best 3 in the country. She spent the summer working on “guard” stuff. But yes. Her versatility means we can use her anywhere.

She is a 4. Last year she even played the 5 in big games. She might be a 3 in the W, but she's a superstar 4. I was going to say stretch 4, but that simplifies her game too much. She's basically the college version of AT, but with a shot.

Look, the point is we are recruiting Vukosa. So we could have recruited Woliczko imo. I think they are pretty much the same position. So, it is an area of need or Vukosa wouldn’t have an offer.

As for Strong. I think she might play some 3 this year. It depends how good our options at the 4 and 5 are.

Out of necessity, I think we still see her as a 4 this year, but there’s so much more wiggle room with Serah Williams and Ayanna Patterson.

Couldn’t agree more with the AT comparison, though.

She's versatile and will be utilized all over offensively, but she'll likely guard opposing team's 4s and 5s and will be playing the 4 at UCONN like she did this past season. I don't see many instances where there will be 2 other PF/Cs in the lineup with her.
