Who's gone tomorrow? A humiliated ORU group or a frustrated pack of Dookies? Serious test to see if ORU can dust themselves off and generate some emotion.

Duke used 5 pitchers today. Santucci looked good early but didn't last.

13 Ariz goes 0-2 and is first seed eliminated
16 ECU escaped over Wake to hang around

Fifteen schools eliminated

Surprises:
Arizona – 13 ranked, subregional host
Vanderbilt, Alabama, Wake Forest – P-5 schools from warm climates

Other eliminated schools:
Army, Niagara, Bryant, LIU, UPenn – northeast schools
Grambling, So Miss, W Michigan, Oral Roberts, La Tech, Nicholls – other (mostly southern) schools from smaller conferences.

Southern Miss looked like the worst non grambling team in the field. Really awful showing by a good team.

Every pitcher I have seen Florida throw in their games vs Nebraska and Oklahoma State throws 95+. They play great defense. Yet, because they can’t actually pitch or locate, their team ERA is extremely high.

Some of these guys might want to transfer to UConn and learn under MacDonald…

0-2/Eliminated:
1 Ariz
2 Van, Ala, Wake, LaT
3 Nich
4 WMU, Gram, LIU, Army, ORU, Bry, Niag, Penn, Fresno, NKU

We just don't get great replays like that Oregon play at the plate. Called out but a terrible tag trying to steal home.

2-0

11 seeded teams
#3 — KanSt, UConn, WV, Ore
#4 — Evansville

Exactly. I’m not sure why more of these type of arms aren’t being recruited to Storrs or transferring in. Be nice to see them capitalize on this tournament’s success and add to a potentially talented and experienced nucleus of arms.
