I think he connects some of the dots.
Yeah, but he says stuff and whiffs like they'll be a major announcement by the end of last year

The ACC is closer in revenue to the SEC than it is to the B12 ?

Those numbers….are odd.

Like, their actual distribution is well what his chart for the present day claims.

I think he connects some of the dots.

Throw a million ideas into the world and some dots will connect by accident.

CSU System continues to see increases for those advocating for its consolidation.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system Wednesday said its student enrollment increased by 6.2% over last year’s spring semester.
The Spring 2025 Preliminary Census Report looked at the four Connecticut State Universities. Separate student enrollment increases at CSU institutions and CT State are as follows:
  • Western Connecticut State University: 10.1%
  • Central Connecticut State University: 8.3%
  • Eastern Connecticut State University: 6.8%
  • CT State Community College (12 campuses): 6%
  • Southern Connecticut State University: 3.1%

Red Bird Capital is out of NYC. Flugaur says they may be the firm that had UConn in their bids. He says he can't say for sure, but it is probably the one. It is the UConn NYC market that Brett Yorkmark wants for strategic partnerships. Starts at 1:50:08.

Fair number of CT applicants not accepted by UConn (or only branched) opting for in-state tuition and R&B at regionals or CCs? Don’t see much attraction for out of state or international applicants. Other observation: Southern fumbling the ball versus other directionals.

Believe RedBird Capital / UConn scenario when kickoff occurs with a P4 logo on the Rent grass. That said, RedBird owns majority stake in AC Milan, the Yankees own a minority stake in AC Milan and YES, YES and UConn have a now past business relationship, RedBird also has relationships with Fenway Sports Group. OK, repeat 1st sentence.

UConn and YES had a relationship? Or SNY? As a non-local just confirming as I knew about SNY but not YES

Watching people who don’t understand private equity try to explain private equity is pretty funny.

The article was not too specific on that other than there is a concerted effort/recruiting in attracting students to the CSUs stemming the enrollment declines. Out-of-state students getting discounted tuition... Cost of attending is only about 3k more.

At 1:04:36 Flugaur says that private equity means business flowing in to the Big 12, not just a loan. It’s going to be a partnership. And is this going to involve UConn? Is all this contingent on UConn? Is all this contingent on the Big 12 Presidents saying yes to a UConn addition, something Brett Yormark wants? Yormark is a believer in UConn and the New York markets and in private equity. At 1:17:11, he says private equity has to be added as a metric in realignment. It is no longer just the traditional realignment metrics. He says it is not known how to measure how private capital affects the metrics of realignment candidates. But it might work for UConn.

I see Greg Fluguar is still pushing all of his lies after all of these years. There isn't a bigger fake person on YouTube that talks conference realignment than him. Always wrong. Just reads articles for hours upon hours for clicks and views. Whatever he says could or will happen go with the opposite and you will be right most of the time.

There are few things that I hate more than someone reading something to me. It strikes me as a colossal waste of everyone's time.

He is not “always wrong.” He nailed the Big 12 adds and the PAC falling apart. Have not listened recently, but he has solid contacts.
