Call me the contrarian if you will but personally I really couldn't give a damn about ND's chances of landing a good spot (or any spot) in the CFP, nor do I care at all about FSU's perceived injustices from the ACC.
ND is playing a dangerous game. Business history is full of companies who didn’t want to sell to the big guys. When the big guys no longer needed them, they cut them loose. We are close to that point. The P2 has no need for them.

Jack Swarbrick was the chairman of the CFP expansion committee who came up with this format.

ND is just fine with it. They have zero problems with the new playoff setup. They think it benefits ND greatly.

No bye is just seen as part of the cost of doing business as a football independent which ND is more than willing to pay.

As noted, no CCG is ND's bye.

Six at large bids and potentially $18 million a year as an independent participant in the playoffs are seen as more important than a bye.

You act like you have accomplished something personally just because you are a fan of a program whose last championship in one of the two top sports was in 1988. Two things: 1) Notre Dame athletics suck, and 2) you are not Notre Dame. You are just some random fan.

I know an ND guy that talks just like this guy. They're all high on their own supply.

App State????

And maybe they could add a non-football school to each division to boost the level of basketball play, otherwise this is the 5th best basketball conference at best. Either way it would likely be UConn's final life raft.

not sure if my math is right, but it looks like 9 current ACC schools would move to a new league. I’m not sure that happens.
There is no way in hell that nine current ACC schools could find a better home. If that were remotely possible the conference would have dissolved by now.

Not a better conference but implosion of ACC forces schools to find a home. Similar to PAC imploding. Only a handful of ACC schools get a golden ticket to SEC/BIG - FSU, Clemson, UNC, and perhaps Miami. Once that happens the other ACC teams will be scrambling to the life boats - try to get into Big 12.

I know an ND guy that talks just like this guy. They're all high on their own supply.

I sometimes wonder if posters like terry and billy are engaged by their respective schools to run social media influence, or maybe they just took it upon themselves to grace these boards.

I mean why would an ND and FSU fan spend so much time on a UCONN board. Head scratcher for me.......

To be fair, I actually tagged @TerryD because some poster was questioning why Notre Dame has not moved to the Big Ten already. For what it's worth, Terry's a reasonable poster who will answer questions, if asked, but otherwise doesn't come on the set to victory lap Notre Dame's circumstances.

What is the case for an ACC school leaving for the Big 12 if the exit fee is going to be 9 figures and Clemson and FSU will be potentially paying it, which would result in a huge distribution for all the ACC members?

Bully bud doesn't even feign any interest in our program or position, he's just fsu 24/7. And if you question his statements he puts you on ignore

Why people continue to engage with him is mind boggling

I don’t pay that much attention to him. He’s been here for a while.
I get his priority is FSU. So what?
I don’t think I’ve come away thinking he’s aggressive or detracting from the conversation.

Friar and Kobe, they are detractors most of the time. Billy isn’t in their league.

I believe it's eight fulltime members plus Notre Dame. Suspect he's guessing Notre Dame affiliates in some form or fashion elsewhere and then something like the following:

Likely Big Ten or SEC
North Carolina
Clemson
Florida State

Probable Big Ten or SEC
Miami
Virginia

Likely Big 12
Louisville
NC State
Virginia Tech

FWIW, I disagree with much of his take. Adding a third school from North Carolina seems especially unlikely. And if they did, why App State over ECU?

I have addressed this many a time during my soon to be 11 years on the Yard...Yep..I am an FSU alumni...

But I am a greater college football/sports fan...

I post on boards WVU, UNC, Tex A&M, VT, Notre Dame, Florida, and more...

To me...a board is kind of like hanging out with some guys at a sports bar...conversation, different insights.

And yes..I am aware that team specific sports boards are primarily populated with singular fans...but I personally find it interesting to expand my horizons...viewpoints are a function of vantage points....my viewpoint may differ from some since we all do not have the same vantage point.

This board is, perhaps, unique...it offers a glimpse of regionalism in ways that other boards do not...The topics are broad and branch out...The food threads let me discover clam pizza (I was amazed...not a southern dish)..snickerdoodle pie, lobster rolls (which I travelled up there in 2022 and sampled). bourbons...

I irritate a few, I reckon, but it is not deliberate.

And if you get personal...I do ignore. I will discuss different viewpoints...but I don't like ugliness....

Why would NC St, Louisville and Va Tech pay exit fees for a lateral move?

It doesn't bother me. It's a conference realignment board. There aren't a lot of them out there. And conference realignment info gets aggregated here which is convenient for others.
