Down in Florida...we call that long drunken period during exams a "cat 5 maintain".

What a bunch of . When I was attending UConn we had an ice storm during exam week. Power was out on the entire campus. They still forced everyone to take final exams. It was tough reading those questions in the freakin' dark!

Until UConn cancelled classes for Hurricane Gloria in 1985 (while I was at Storrs) UConn had not cancelled classes since JFK as assassinated. Sadly, my dad was out of town and my grandmother was visiting, so I went home to help at the house and missed some epic hurricane parties. Ted's liquor store literally ran out of beer and had to restock. There were people everywhere carrying two cases of beer around as we drove away from campus.

But then, Storrs is the safest place in the country.

I was there and partied for the both of us.

There will never be a colder winter in Eastern Connecticut than 1995-1996.

I was interning nights at WILI and it would have been subhuman to not let some random people sleep in the lobby when I was working in the early hours of the morning.

I still live in Eastern Connecticut and we've had more snow since - but that combination of wind and cold was incredible.

Even last year when I started my drive to work at double digits below zero for a week or two - at least by sunrise it was usually back to zero with a calm wind.
I was there for the blizzard in the 70s at Eastern. It was a drunken party fest. Shovel, buy beer, party...repeat
God Bless Fosey Saba.

Oh no!

Looks like years of eating milk duds and drinking dew in his basement in front of his computer have finally caught up with the dud.

I was there too. Dec. '73 the big ice storm, no heat or power during finals - no cancellations.

I'll be honest, I had no clue about these Facebook fake news sites. Someone could have made a killing off fake conference realignment news.

If only the Dude ever figured out how to monetize it he'd be out of his moms basement by now...

By the looks of the cars Fishy and Tom are driving I'd say some people already did.

They even had their own private car wash where they got their fake tips from. :D

That is bull s--- and as soon as he's done feeding the tigers, I am going to have my butler put together a very strongly-worded rebuttal.

PS - If anyone is looking to pick up some part-time work, I need someone to press the 'post reply' button for me. It is just exhausting.

Heads Up BTM (Big Ten Man) has some new info on Big Ten's perception in regards to Amazon's attempt to enter into Live Sport Content.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "Amazon getting into Live Sport Content, first into Professional Leagues, followed by Collegiate Sports, has already altered...."

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM ".....has already altered the relationship between ESPN and FOX. It has brought them closer than ever before."

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "Amazon does not worked well with others. 3 or 4 years from now FOX, ESPN, NBC, CBS and TNT's turf will be challenged by Amazon."

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "Perception is Amazon's first target will eventually become a small NBA or MLB rights package".

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "Big Ten selling their streaming rights to Amazon before 2022/23 is legally possible, independent of established Media rights".

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "When it comes to Big Ten...ultimately ESPN choosed to invest in 2nd half of Big Ten Media rights not to deter FOX, but reinforce..."

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "....to reinforce relationship with Big Ten and reposition itself with FOX to help maintain their market space vs new media interest"

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
BTM "Amazon will first try to obtain small steaming packages from NBA and MLB"

Tony Sirnick ‏@attorneytony 1h1 hour ago
@flugempire or Big 12?

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 57m57 minutes ago
@attorneytony Good question. I will ask. Potential problem with LHN/Disney...& FOX with other 3rd tier rights of other B12 schools.

Here we go....

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: Big 12 continues talks with ESPN/Fox to extend TV contract & eliminate pro rata. CCG might last only 1 year.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: general structure of revised deal already agreed to by parties. ESPN & Fox working on details between them. Maybe 7-8 months out.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: New deal would keep B12 3rd in revenue & extend GoR by 5 years. B12 would earn about $8-10m more than ACC & P12.

hristopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: B12 would surrender the 1 football game & 1 additional basketball game currently part of their T3 package.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: Texas would retain 2 football games for LHN.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: Guaranteed appearances on ESPN would increase. B12 can expect better time slots but 1 game would air on Wednesday or Thursday.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV how much will each Big12 team make on 7/1/2017 via Big12 tv football contract(s)?

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@pfac51 Base below for current contact. Add $4M for next year and $7-8m each year after.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV that's pretty good money there. on par with the B1G.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 B1G and SEC make more. It keeps Big 12 ahead of ACC & P12.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV the ACC tv deal is garbage. i'd love for my team to be on the internet all the time for the streaming.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 ESPN had no choice.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV i understand. still garbage. and all of you discussed these 24 months convinces me their stuck.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 ESPN paid $45M each year to keep FSU in the ACC. Now ESPN & Fox are going to pay $80M to keep UT & OU in the Big 12.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV that's the cost for free agency, right?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 Networks want to avoid consolidation. That happens if Big 12 or ACC fail.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV would you see a day that KU at Purdue football was a conference game?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 No. B12 has no interest in Purdue.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV KU would have interest in the B1G if the Big12 crumbled.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 OU has an AAU problem too. That's not going away & it's more significant than most want to believe.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV OU academics worse than any B1G school? OU fans at work don't think so. for some reason.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 OU isn't AAU.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV not even close.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 I'm sure I'll get blasted by this but I understand many in the B1G want Neb out for their lack of AAU status.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 Many meaning the schools that suck in football.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV exactly. Add the illini. And the gophers for their recent bulls hit.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
The last time the Big 12 redid their TV deal it took ESPN & Fox over a year to work out the deal between them.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: B12 scheduled OU & WVU the last week of the season believing whoever loses would be knocked out of CCG.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: Guaranteed appearances on ESPN would increase. B12 can expect better time slots but 1 game would air on Wednesday or Thursday.

Jody D ‏@jodaciousjody 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV @Big12Conference on Wednesday night where it belongs w/ the other minor conferences like the MAC & CUSA

Christopher Lambert‏@theDudeofWV
@jodaciousjody B1G is going to play a weekday game too.

Jody D ‏@jodaciousjody 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV Let me know when Michigan and Ohio St are playing in Wednesday night. Or any other Big10 team for that matter

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@jodaciousjody Friday nights. Worst night of all because of HS games.

Jody D ‏@jodaciousjody 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV still a weekend night. NO WAY they will play on Wednesday nights

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@jodaciousjody Thursday is best bet. Rotate with ACC.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
Source: His opinion the bump is to keep Big 12 intact cheaper for Networks in the long run.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV B1G stuck at 14 then?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 9h9 hours ago
@pfac51 So with carriage fee model in question & Networks refusing to pay for expansion where is the incentive to add?

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 9h9 hours ago
@theDudeofWV there isn't any at this point. and expansion is football not basketball at this point even for the BTN to add games for bball.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 My opinion is that contraction is the next wave. Schools that can't & lose millions annually just leech from valuable programs.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV Purdue. Indiana.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 I've heard Northwestern, Illinois, & Purdue don't cotton to Neb not being in AAU.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV that doesn't surprise me a bit. I'd have 2 go back and look at the voting in who voted nebby Out

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 8h8 hours ago
@pfac51 It's private but rumor has it that Wisky & 1 other B1G school voted against Neb for AAU.

Trip Manfro ‏@pfac51 8h8 hours ago
@theDudeofWV i read an old article aviur that same info on SB nation 3 yrs ago on a husker page.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 5h5 hours ago
Flugar emailed me to say UT & OU were not on board. Ask him who lead the negotiating team for the Big 12?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 4h4 hours ago
I'm not going to argue or debate the B12 news. I'm confident it's accurate & remind everyone the current GoR runs thru 2025.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 9h9 hours ago
@Thedudeofwv Oklahoma & Texas are not signing on to extending the B12 GOR in 2016..or 2017. Absolutely ridiculous.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
Dude: "I'm not going to argue or debate the B12 news. I'm confident it's accurate & remind everyone the current GoR runs thru 2025." Wrong

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
Greg Flugaur Retweeted Greg Flugaur

https://mobile.twitter.com/flugempire/status/810680796617076738 … Current Big 12 Grant of Rights ends July 1st, 2025. Not through 2025.

reg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 2h2 hours ago
And why Dude would you need to remind people (incorrectly) when the GOR runs to when you yet again tell us B12 GOR is about to be extended?

Kyle S. Lamb ‏@Kyle_Lamb 1h1 hour ago
@flugempire absurd thing is GOR can't be extended until/unless media deal is extended since it's simply an addendum... which isn't happening

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 1h1 hour ago
@Kyle_Lamb Exactly.

Kyle S. Lamb ‏@Kyle_Lamb 1h1 hour ago
@flugempire i'm pretty sure he doesn't get that

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 1h1 hour ago
@Kyle_Lamb Dude of WV is saying that OU & UT have agreed to a GOR extension..increase to 5 more years with bump in pay.

Kyle S. Lamb ‏@Kyle_Lamb 42m42 minutes ago
@flugempire lol riiiiight. After all this dysfunction, not even Texas & Oklahoma fans think that's the case. They're all ready to leave.

The Dude has been hyping the Big 12 non stop for five years....and before he was the Dude of West Virginia, and Chris Lambert, he blogged under the title "Honus, the Dude, Sweed".

Some of Honus, the Dude, Sweed's swill from years ago...

" Honus "The Dude" Sneed comes down from the mountain (and off his mountain bike) to share his thoughts on Big 12 expansion rumors and the status of Clemson and FSU.

But before I “spill my beans” I want to give you the same warning I was given by my friend at WVU.

Realignment talks take place in the dark. They are sensitive and can fall apart at anytime and all the parties involved will deny their involvement.

Clemson and FSU have an agreement in principal to withdraw from the ACC and compete in the Big 12 starting in 2013.

The announcement will come shortly after the new BCS 4+1 playoff system is ratified.

If you would try and GPS the route of the road to the national championship of college football, you would see it runs through the SEC, Big 12, and the Pac 12 but doesn’t seem to have any on-ramps from tobacco road.

And that’s really not even open to debate as even wise sages and renowned ACC apologists admit the Big 12 is by far the better football league."

And the beauty of the internet is that so many of us are entertained by a guy like Honus Sweed (the dude, Chris Lambert, and other incarnations).

With apologies to the Statler Brothers.....

But the Kooks of Realignment had their dreams
They all thought they'd change the Big 12 with their predicted deeds
Or maybe they just thought the conference would change to fit their needs
But the Kooks of Realignment had their dreams

Flugaur's in The Boneyard
M-Hver needs a pair
Yoda's in a rubber room
the Dude is on welfare
Texbeerme is deep in cow pies
Buckanair is deep in debt
Where Doc and 2x ended up
Is anybody's bet

But the Kooks of Realignment had their dreams
They all thought they'd change the world with a bogus source
And stuck, they can't dismount the horse.
The Kooks of Realignment had their dreams
