I think Houston is a decent school and all but why would Fox or Espn.com pay 20 million more for something they already own...they can't really own Texas anymore other then getting A&M back. It's just buying something you already own.

In the past day I've read tweets from Cincinnati, BYU, and Houston, all claim they are no. 11, and the 12 is trying to find no. 12.

They can't all be right could they?

Clearly, CATV/internet service providers care far less about academics than TV viewer #s and current and future internet viewer #s such as UCONN's 11 million+ eyes. With all reasonable respect for different academic agendas and target markets, facts strongly support Houston's admission standards (SAT Reading 500-610, Math 540-640; ACT 22-27) and academics are roughly on par with Louisville CC. After 6 years, the latter now graduates about 50% of admitted students. For related comparisons, input Houston, Louisville, and any third school in the linked CollegeBoard.org page. Memphis is 1-part sad, 1-part tragic.

It's beyond me what goes through someone's head to make them want to be one of these make-believe insiders.

On the Houston Scout board, they said that he is related to a billionaire booster/Chairman of the Board of Regents of UH.

This is the chairman of the UH Board of Regents: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilman_J._Fertitta

He's not in the immediate family. Also, if he were related to the Chairman, every single Houston beat writer would be taking his word and running stories based on it. Imagine if a family member of Susan Herbst said that we were a lock for the Big 12? Everyone in Connecticut would know about it.

It's Big 12 expansion tradition to state School X is #11 and they can't decide on #12. Started with Louisville back in 2011.

Oklahoma showing interest in playing in front of UCONN DMA...negotiated 4 game/2 Home/2 Away-W/BB.

OU is onboard with 2 expansion possibilities in front of B12.
OU wants more penetration into massive market of Houston..or UCONN$ w Cincy.

What Oklahoma does not want is a Big 12 in 2017 looking like Big 12 of 2015.
OU wants to enlarge footprint
Create B12N
Expand OU Brand

If Texas pulls rug from underneath Oklahoma in transforming Big 12 this time around..
..massive ice storm awaits key relationship in Big 12

‏@flugempire No...this does not rule out UCONN....nor rules them in.
Scheduling is done in "Silo"...away from Expansion talks.

But Oklahoma is on the front burner of breaking out of its Regional existence..either by expanding B12 Brand through Expansion or..you know.

To get UCONN Women's Basketball on your OOC schedule for 4 games is of value to OU...

Oklahoma does not know if UCONN is going to the Big 12
You do not schedule..or wait to schedule per expansion results.

@JWFUtah However...it does show some level of interest from OU perspective on garderning the value of UCONN W/BB..they have been talking
