Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 5h5 hours ago Now maybe the Big 12 has talked to FSU.... I'm not about to kill that... but the outcome was maybe... well...what you would expect. Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 5h5 hours ago Like it or not the Big 12 isn't a prime mover. It missed its chance. Now the best it can hope for is to clean up after others. Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 1h1 hour ago Asked whether Oklahoma or West Virginia could ever leave the Big 12, Bowlsby said, “There are always those possibilities. … Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV @ecdawg_BI Just may have to talk about what can't be talked about.... So let me get this straight. Bowlsby publicly says something and now he can talk about it, OR he made more shat up based on what he said publicly. It's exhausting. I can't stop reading.

People saying ACC GOR invalid without ACC Network. No idea if true. My guy in Tx Ath Dept says B12 never stopped talking about ACC schools.

I know this isn't true, but this would be my dream scenario. I would love to see the ACC implode and watch the dust settle. The rest of the P5 conferences could carve up the ACC like a Thanksgiving Turkey to get to 18 teams and all would be happy!

SEC = Virginia Tech, NC State, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati ; Add huge markets NC, VA, PA, and OH-- money expands and add key recruiting mkts

B1G = Virginia, UNC, Georgia Tech, UConn ; Expand with large like-minded schools and adds key markets, locking up NYC while expanding to key southern markets

B12 = Clemson, FSU, Miami, Louisville, Duke, Wake Forest, Syracuse, BC ; lower on the totem poll then SEC/B1G, but get key FL market and expands to key eastern and southern markets. They would likely take Notre Dame for Olympic sports and allow them to have similar terms as the LHN.

Everyone would be happy here--not one of the schools situations would get worse (besides may Notre Dame--but that is just an added bonus for everyone else). All conferences would have both power football and power basketball programs through0ut.

Makes too much sense--will never happen.

ACC end in sight? FSU talking to B12 and SEC again. No ACCN renders GOR invalid? It's about to get interesting.

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 8h8 hours ago
ACC schools blocked a move by ESPN to make ACCN a shared network with EspnClassic. Revenue was undesirable both short and long term

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 8h8 hours ago
FSU Prez tells WVU prez Gee that B10 has been courting several ACC schools from info he has received.

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 8h8 hours ago
FSU has not been one of the schools B10 has contacted.

http://blatanthomerism.com/articles/2016/1/conference-realignment-oklahoma-offers-big-fan-following… Must read. Keep in mind future FOX/BTN skinny bundles and over the top sales OU Brand expands..B1G Brand expands

Ross ‏@Rossjc4 15m15 minutes ago
@flugempire so w/ this argument BYU is the best candidate for expansion b/c it would have 5th largest fan base in the Big 12 today.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 8m8 minutes ago
@Rossjc4 @Rossjc4 BYU has lots of things going for it...but B12 TV partner FOX does not want B12 to expand Westward if B12 does expand

I've never listened to a podcast, I can only imagine what a horror show that one must be.

As my boy Albert said, "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Or Garland: "What if I told you insane was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?"
I can't come here anymore.

The lunacy of some WVU fans is astonishing. No conference that can come within shouting distance of the B-12 in terms of money or prestige would give WVU the time of day yet a fan ( question had to come from a WVU fan) sees them as similar to Oklahoma. The fact is a B-12 without Oklahoma or Texas may still be a better option for them than anything out there.
The ACC is their best landing spot. What real college football fan wouldn't like to see the back yard brawl. It's like BCU and UConn in hatred. Since Yale- Harvard established the precedent of playing people you truly hate. There's nothing like it.
BCU would be our number 1 but Rutgers would be okay to.

Love those games
WVU dreamed of (and was denied by) the ACC more times than Lucy has pulled the football away from Charlie Brown.

Would WVU love to be a member of the ACC? Absolutely.

Would fans of WVU, Pitt along many of college football in general love to see? Without question.

Would the ACC ever invite WVU for membership? Only if the current ACC got raided and the bulk of that conference's marquee names have moved on.

Wasn't the academic standard that previously prevented them exsposed as a fraud with the Louisville add. WVA is regarded higher academically thanLouisville and their a State Flag Ship.
Unless like UConn it's a personal vendetta.

FSU fans have a relationship of sorts with WVU...

Bobby came from the Mountaineers to FSU, his sons grew up in Morgantown and Terry and Tommy played for WVU. Bobby's daughter married a WVU basketball player...and of course, Bowden's last game was against WVU.

With Jimbo Fisher and Rick Trickett (O line coach) both hailing from the coal mining country of West Virginia, there seems to be good will towards WVU.

Didn't WVU fans burn Bobby in effigy as he was leaving?

Yes, WVU has a better academic profile than UL but there is more than a century of UVA, UNC, Duke & Wake viewing WVU's academics with disdain. At least two of those schools will need to be elsewhere for the ACC to accept WVU.

Let's say, for argument's sake, that Kansas and Oklahoma jump to the B1G and the Big 12 is collapsing. The SEC doesn't want anyone but Texas, but wouldn't be willing to put up with Texas-related nonsense. They'd go ahead and poach, say, NC State and Virginia Tech (I don't see Duke/UNC/UVA leaving the ACC for SEC, and nobody wants Wake) to expand their footprint. The ACC, even just for optics, needs to add two schools. You don't think WVU would be one of them?

In the above scenario I believe UVA, UNC and Duke would use all of their combined weight within the conference to add UConn and Cincinnati (assuming remaining at twelve plus ND is not an option).

Should XII fall apart, West Virginia's best bet would be as a backfill to the ACC should they lose a team or two to the B1G (UVA, V Tech, UNC [maybe Duke if it is required to take UNC]) or SEC (V Tech, UNC, Duke [see previous], NC State, Louisville [should the SEC want more basketball weight & I don't think Kentucky has enough pull to keep them out unlike Florida with FSU or S Carolina w/ Clemson) to the SEC in the very unlikely scenario that they lose a team (only possibility is Missouri to the B1G).

I'd be pretty surprised if they added Cincinnati over WVU, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

I would think that remaining at 12+ND would specifically not be an option because they wouldn't want to give the Big XII a chance to regroup and bring in those teams.

True but (again under the hypothetical scenario) don't be surprised if the result would be twelve plus ND (partial football, full member in other sports) plus Texas (partial football, full member in other sports).

I told you months ago that Arizona and ASU had talked to the B12-nothing really came of it.rumors now flying that they are unhappy in PAC

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 10h
Also hearing today that should the ACC implode then Notre Dame would be B10 bound as well. Not sure how that would fly with NBC

Greg Pappas ‏@GregPappas1965 Jan 26
@MH ver3 UVA, UNC, and GT are the most likely.

John Bennett ‏@JBenn2228 10h
@GregPappas1965 @MH ver3 3 names i have seen and heard.

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 10h
@JBenn2228 @GregPappas1965 along with ND would give B10 18 teams. Do they stop there?

MH ver3 ‏@MH ver3 10h
@JBenn2228 @GregPappas1965 that leaves VT, NCST for the sec if they stop at 16. I'd wager Duke and either FSU or the U of they go 18

John Bennett ‏@JBenn2228 9h
@MH ver3 things are happening all over. I am not claiming I know anything concrete just through channels. B1G adds before new TV contract

TheFrogCast ‏@TheFrogCastTCU 4h
@frankthetank111 what did you make of the Arizona and B12 articles?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 4h
Don't buy them at all. Pac-12 is 1000 times more likely to poach the Big 12 than other way around.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV 4h
@frankthetank111 @TheFrogCastTCU Why? P12N failing. PST timezone ailing. B12 payout greater.

Doug ‏@NebGradDubDub 4h
@theDudeofWV @frankthetank111 @TheFrogCastTCU P12 network is not failing. FOX or ESPN can purchase equity stake. It's not fast money

ME: The Big 12 and West Virginia take over the world, on the next Pinky & The Brain. :D

MH ver3, Dude, Tuxedo Yoda, Bizarro World, Clockwork Orange. It's all the same message. Freud would have a field day.

I will be heading to Charlotte in March via the Shenandoah Valley. Curious if I should bang a right somewhere on I-81 and pay someone a visit.

Yoda, MH VER, Dude,

It has become a cottage industry....sort of a sheltered workshop for the delusional. A place where fairy tales become narratives and pass into folklore. Modern days Grimm brothers.

Podcast tonight...
UConn game tonight. What's more important?

Besides, if there are any significant ramblings, they will be on Twitter and quoted here.

Made the mistake of listening to one of his podcasts a year or two ago. Just an audio version of his self important verbal diarrhea.
