No AAC-SEC for UConn | The Boneyard

No AAC-SEC for UConn

What does that mean home-and-home? This goes for 2 years?

.-.
UConn can do better than the last year's bottom 4 SEC teams.
I don't know about that. Realistically who can we add to the OOC home slate?

Also, it wouldn't hurt to play a lesser team from a P5.

To me, the fact we weren’t selected by our league to showcase our league against another Major conference, says a lot about what the league thinks of us and honestly where we are right now.

I'm glad UConn is not playing any of those teams, it's like asking Kentucky come play at Tulane, ECU etc...

UConn at South Carolina? pass I rather play Harvard

League had nothing to do with it. It was ESPN/SEC. I agree with @tcf15. Not sweating this based on who these teams are.

We have our opportunities in the non-conference.

Claxton (if he returns) & Edwards are both lottery picks after this year. They add a legit grad transfer. Plus 5 top 100 ESPN recruits. What am I missing here? Sounds like what people were saying about Texas Tech here before the E8 run.

I think you both are underestimating next years Georgia.

Except when Georgia is top 25 Kenpom in March.

Georgia vs Memphis could be one of the best games of the year.

SMU just announced a home-and-home series with Georgia this year and next as well.

What I was about to say. You could pick 4 random sec teams out of a hat 100 times and 99 or 100 times that combo of 4 sec teams will be better than the ones listed.

Still, a bottom tier sec team is way better than, say, a team like coppin st. Oh well, not gonna make a big deal of it, maybe uconn gets in next year, and hopefully kentucky will be one of the 4 teams.

UConn - Florida.... is a UConn Florida matchup. I’ll take that over the AAC vs SEC match up.says a lot about our brand

Edit... fo sho

Tom Moore thinks he is reading the Fox and the Grapes instead of the Boneyard tonight.

We’re playing Florida. Why would we add Ole Miss?

BECAUSE MAINE AND THE GOD FORSAKEN NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ARE ON THE SCHEDULE?!?!!

Hey you know when UConn was relevant and good - Ole Miss visited the HCC?

The home schedule is a gd disgrace - they should take home and homes with every one of those teams rather than playing the claptrap they want to charge $800 donations for.

Wouldn’t it benefit out SOS by having our conference teams play against good opponents? Their SOS would go up an, if all goes well, so would ours. I think staying out of the SEC “challenge” is OK for us. We aren’t playing a bottom feeder team. We have Florida in a regular season game (potentially twice). I’ll take it and let the other conference teams take on the remaining ones. I think we still have a couple games left to add so I wouldn’t worry about it. Realistically we arent winning a national championship this year... we are trying to compete enough to be ranked and make a tournament appearance so 2020-2021 when we can make some legitimate noise. The upcoming season is a stepping stone.

You're becoming insufferable.
Sorry. Don’t want to be. I’m actually a positivity training specialist. Regarding our team. I just want some respect back. And already feel we are going to hear the phrases of
Once we get real UConn talent.. ( this isn’t the 1990-2000s anymore so that may not happen)

Next years (2020 or 2021) class (sounds like the cubs and browns, this will likely be our 4th non winning season IN A ROW... that is not just insufferable it’s unacceptable and is now the norm. We do 3 year trailing army company. This is a trend or a new reality both of which blow)

I am seeing an exact copy of last regime recruiting. Unless the target wasn’t already all about us we aren’t selling anyone and are once again resorting to 3* unknowns or less. ( I know we play a cleaner game. Honor is our weakness sadly)

Still can’t get a big.
Placing all faith in Sal is unheard of and unfair

I’ve been on this boat for 40 years and hope I get 40 more. LOVE our school. Will still love them. I just keep feeling like we are turning into UCLA NC State Indiana or Georgetown. Irreplaceable to irrelevant.
Sorry.
Now to go pump some people up!!!!!!!!

If you’re picking 4 teams you’re probably going to pick teams that have actually finished in the top 4 spots.
Cincy finished in the top 4 in every year of history of the AAC I think so it's obviously not that. I think it's pretty simple. UConn and Cincy both already have a home and home with SEC teams this year and next.

Pretty sure this has everything to do with the location of the 4 AAC teams all being in the south, and 0 to do with the quality of those programs compared to us.

We're not going to be in this series often. Neither will Cincy.

More often than not, it will be the middle of the AAC prestige pile against the bottom of the SEC.
