On a positive note, the name is pronounced Mah-How-Ski. The c is silent, so this is consistent with our new theme of silent letters and the letter H.

Any word on a commitment here?

My polish assistant says it’s Ma-hov-ski
Tak (yes), Ma-HOEV-ski (emphasis on 2nd to last part of Polish words).

Minimally, Nils’ father Sebastian was also born in Berlin. His father, currently coaching in Poland, also has Polish citizenship (easy process now for people with Polish born parents or grandparents).

Fair chance in Nils’ and Sebastian’s shared nation of birth, Deutschland, their Polish surname pronunciation may be a bit Germanized.
