We need a new coach and some talent on offense. I am not sure there was anyone who could be successful with this talent. There are people who think a coach can be successful with play calling. A really talented team can be successful with any play calling. It's about winning individual battles.

For real though, Scott Frost makes a TON of sense

• History of offensive success as an OC and HC
• History of identifying under the radar recruits and developing them as NFL players
• Option based scheme with downfield passing attack that minimizes the need for elite high end talent and takes shots
• Nebraska buyout means we can actually probably afford him ($15M buyout)
• Not currently coaching so is available to step in immediately
• Can also coach QBs and fill the Associate Head Coach title (both currently open/needs)

I feel you brother... Would be a fabulous hire... But, quite honestly, would he consider us as a real option??? We've been in "prove you belong in FBS" mode for years now... to the point that coaches (and the most talented players/recruits) look at us as 2nd (but mostly 3rd/4th) tier options...

The one thing we have going for us now is we have a celebrity in JM... Maybe (just maybe) he can pull this thing off and bring somebody in of that ilk... If he can pull it off, we take off... finally (which has been a long time coming)...

CT insider and the Courant both have articles that are just staff reporters. Where are their beat writers? Even Brown's blogs are picking this up. There's definitely enough smoke.
