One of my "friends" is hammering me on next year's BE and NCAA Tourney already. It's not like they're any dynasty.

The dirt is they are still St John's. Just ask you buddy when St John's last won a game in the NCAA tournament. He'll shut up quickly.

Would you ever trade places with a St. John's fan? Me neither.
Their new scholarship players this year didn't qualify? How were they awarded scholarships?

ask him if they'll have enough players to field a team

Ask him to name any sport they are better than UConn at....ANY....and then ask him to define what a "red storm" is.

Comparing St. Johns to UConn is just unfair; you don't need to be so mean. But, you can still be childish: i always thought the red storm sounded like it was referring to that special time of the month for the ladies.

Just remember nyhuskyfan's line: How do you make a whore moan? Don't pay her.

--This joke was brought to you by St. John's men's basketball.

You don't need much. St. John's likes to think of itself as one of the historical powerhouses in basketball, and it kills them - KILLS them - that we have three titles and they have none. They try to throw out NIT titles from the Great Depression as comparable achievements.

If you need more, ask him if he still enjoys the road trips to Pittsburgh.

I wasn't even aware that St. John's was considered a rival to uconn...

I was barely aware that they were even in the Big East.

I half-thought they were one of those local teams UConn scheduled annually, like Fairfield or Maine.

"The Big East will be adding the University of Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette, and DePaul, all recent top-25 teams. So what if the Johnnies keep losing? Would the university consider a change?
“What kind of change?” asked Roberts.
“Leaving the Big East and playing in an easier conference.” Perhaps the MAAC, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, would be a better fit."

Wow. 7 years ago, and this article saw it all coming, too. If this isn't enough ammo for your St. John's friend, I don't know what is. Ask him if he thinks he is ready for the MAAC...

If you need help to win an argument with a St. John's fan, you're in tough shape, life-wise.

My advice - punch him in the throat and then throw the Carl Krauser X-move at him.

If nothing else, it will prevent your having to endure any more conversation with a St. John's fan than you've already had.

Things that make Fishy want to punch someone in throat:
St. John's fans who think that their school is relevant in the Division 1 college basketball world.
