I believe that the NCAA did the right thing by cancelling the tournament. I'm disappointed, but no sport is above the risks of people getting sick and possibly dying from it. Could they guarantee the safe travel to all of the people involved, no, so why take a chance.

Just cancel. The whole idea of the tournament is to pit the best against the best after improving their game in conference, etc.

This is unfortunate but it would have been unconscionable to play the tournament. Infectious disease specialists are predicting up to 150 million cases in the US and a worst case scenario of 1 million deaths. If canceling the tournament will save some lives the NCAA had no choice.

@Kaizen posting a KDKA report on the NCAA tournament. KDKA was the first television station in Pittsburgh under the call sign WDTV. Originally the DuMont Network , and sold to Westinghouse in the early 50s. It was the first station I remember watching. My parents always watched the news on KDKA. Think it is now a CBS affiliate. There is also a KDKA radio station in the Pittsburgh area. Old times!

Is 32-1 with two wins over #1 seeds, one win over a #2 seed , highest RPI and #1 ranking in both polls really "ridiculousness?"

Well, they did it in football before changing to the current semi-final and finals format. BUT... I agree - no way to award it.

It's too bad for the seniors and from the top teams who were all going to vie for the NC. Great players like Dangerfield, Ionescu, Sabally, Hebard, Charles, etc. will never have a chance to win a NC. The SC seniors got their NC 3 years ago and Baylor's got theirs last year.

Not a way any player wants to see their season end, but for those who have their careers ending, it's got to be particularly tough.

NCAA did not award a football championship. now that I think about it, it may still not award one officially.
