Maybe Pitino watched Bill Self stick with Hunter D and figured he can get different results? (HD entered the game and Kansas wilted, so they say - ergo should have left HD on the bench)

As every day passes it requires more and more resources to complete and the big conferences are continuing to widen the resource gap. A dozen years from now we might be ashes. A dozen years ago the same posters were here saying UConn basketball and the Big East are dead.

I was calling everyone out on it back then and I'll call everyone out on it now. I'm saying the same thing I said back then, UConn basketball isn't going anywhere and we will win more national championships.
 
Would have liked to seen Creighton win for the conference but they were outmatched against Auburn.
Auburn was tougher and more physical and surprisingly, forced 17 team fouls against Creighton giving them 21 FT attempts. I wonder when the last time was where Creighton committed that many fouls? Credit to Auburn for taking it to the rim creating the contact and just being in position throughout the game to get the whistles.
 
I thought Boogie Fland was done for the season? A dangerous development that he's playing.
 
Wow! I didn't know Pettiford was from Jersey City. Hurley dropped the ball on that one. He's definitely the key piece this roster is missing. That's tough.

I see people clamoring for Pettiford but he is only 6'1". Many people on this board talk about the need for a taller guard. I agree that he is very good but just wondering about the inconsistency in thought process.
 
BYU has a 26 year old. They’re going to be a program on the rise given the $$ - starting a little earlier than expected here:
 
Hate to mention it, but I think that Arkansas win means Squid has tied JC in career wins. Might still be one short as I'm not sure if the Sports Reference site has been updated post-game.

Just need guards who can make plays off the bounce, get in the lane/put pressure on the defense, and get buckets, for me I don't care how tall they are. I thought Nowell could be a fraction of that as a freshman but nope.

This is brilliant. UConn should follow your advice and join the...Big 10? What is your suggestion other than just dumping all over UConn and everything UConn-adjacent?

I know we don't have a path now but why does that mean I can't dump on the Big East? Doesn't mean it's the right home for UConn

So UConn should shut down the athletic program rather than be in the Big East until the Big 10 invites us? That is brilliant.

Positions like this are why it is hard to take the haters seriously.

Teams that benefited from Big East refereeing style paid the price today.

Both St. John’s and Creighton looked ordinary when called for all the fouls that are often overlooked in BE Play.

How’d he drop the ball? We recruited him. Unless you’re Duke you don’t just pick and choose who you want. To quote another Boneyard hero “the negativity in this town sucks.”

They are anticipating instead of reacting quickly to what they see. Remember when the official called a missed FT a dead ball because he anticipated it not hitting the rim but later admitted fault when it did(Providence -DePaul game)? That is an error that should never be made.

Damn Gonzaga is going to lose. I picked Houston in bracket,but I have always liked Gonzaga and hope they win a title as long as it's not at UConn's and expense.

There's exception to every rule. We've won 4 championships led by guards who were all 6-1 and under.
 
Who do we pull for in this tourney now with the BE gone and our 50 foot giant of a game in front of us? Dusty & Michigan is one team, but might I say I think Mick & UCLA might be another? I cannot pull for the SEC, hard for me to with the B12 until they kick us an invite.
