Yikes, and Oregon lost to Texas St. Might not even get their showdown w/ their former coach at Texas.

Arizona St. did win yesterday, but is trailing BYU in a loser out game. I believe they would have to win 3 games in a row now to advance out of their Regional.

My Pac is sucking today. Arizona is comfortably ahead though, UW just starting, UCLA coming up in a little bit.

Holy crap, all eyes tune in to Tempe. A real scorcher going on. Total back and forth game.

As much as I love a pitchers' duel, it doesn't get any more exciting than that BYU/ASU game! Wow.

Pac 12 was pretty pathetic yesterday. ASU eliminated, 2 other lost their first game, UW still can't hit worth a darn. At least Arizona and UCLA didn't look shaky.

Have to cut ASU some slack since their ace pitcher was injured. And at least Oregon was getting runners on base and getting hits -- just couldn't get enough to bring more runs. And you can't read too much into Stanford's loss IMO. They aren't ranked for a reason... Anyway, I still haven't seen anything to challenge my opinion that the SEC got too many seeds and the Pac-12 and Big-10 (well, essentially Washington and Michigan) were shortchanged. For example, Florida barely won last night, Kentucky is getting trounced today, JMU currently has Tennessee on the ropes, and seeded Duke having to play at George is just not fair.

Clemson keeping it close against 'Bama too.

Yeah, definitely the SEC got way too many seeded teams.

Kinda looking like the ACC was underrated.

Most of the SEC has pretty suspect offenses but there are some good pitchers

Only team SEC team I truly think can play with the big dogs would be Alabama because of Fouts and some of their hitters.

Alabama blew it wide open late. It was 2-0 most of the game, ended up 6-0.

Odicci Alexander (pitcher for JMU) is an absolute joy to watch! Tennessee falls to the losers bracket and will play in the elimination game tonight.

Hemphill and Fouts are consistently stellar for Alabama. Hemphill with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 RBIs on 4 at bats. Fouts with 16 strikeouts. I actually think Alabama is the one SEC team that deserved a better draw from the committee. There #3 seed was appropriate, but they deserved to be rewarded with an easier regional match-up than Clemson IMO. At any rate, Alabama delivered.

I won't stand for this SEC slander. Alabama, Florida, and Missouri are Omaha teams, but that's it. Possibly Arkansas but their schedule is favorable and their bracket is one of the easiest. Their next round won't be tho.

Heavyweights not having an easy time today. Wichita St. had been leading most of the game but Oklahoma just went up 3-2 in the 5th. UCLA and Fresno St. are scoreless in the 4th.

Oklahoma exploded in the 5th to go up 7-2. But Wichita St. got 3 runs back in the 6th. Now 7-5. Interesting these 2 teams were #1 and #2 in number of homers hit this season.

Nice to see some parity. Makes it more exciting. A lot of very good teams out there.

UCLA had to score in the 7th to tie it at 1. Got 3 in the top of the 8th to take control.

Why is the host team batting in the top of the inning? Makes no sense at all.

edit--make it 5-1 now

Not surprisingly we have a pitchers duel going between Michigan and Washington. Scoreles thru 3 1/2.

There have been 3 no hitters already. Michigan got one last night, South Florida got one today, not sure what the other one was.

Wow! No quit in Fresno St., it's now 5-4 in the bottom of the 8th and still going.

edit--UCLA hung on.

Michigan just got a solo homer in the 6th. The way their pitcher is rolling and UW's offense is M.I.A, that will probably be enough.

Michigan goes back to back w/ dingers. I can't see UW scoring 3 runs this game. It's over. And probably soon their post season, can't see them beating Michigan twice tomorrow. They had the talent, they should've been a lot better this season. Something went wrong.

Plain is terrific but that offense.... as an LSU fan I feel their pain to watch good pitching go to waste at times. LSU has been hot this weekend but I know how rough that can be.
