NCAA Attendance

I’ll be surprised if there are 3000 in Greensboro on Monday.

I recall back in 2007... and Duke was upset in the Sweet 16 by Rutgers... and you had a Rutgers-Arizona State Final on a Monday Night  They were almost pleading with people to come back for the game. Of course I came back.... but attendance was probably around 3,000 or so.

I bet Portland and Albany are sell outs!

Im not sure if they used curtains to reduce capacity.in the Rose Garden or not ... but that arena seats between 19,000-20,000 people normally.

Another 11k in Portland. Cant find the Albany attendance so far.

I’ll be there — my seats are pretty good and I Baylor is fun to watch. However, if SC would have upset Baylor, I’m not sure I’d make the drive up from Charlotte for the Monday game. I can not articulate how uninformed and obnoxious the SC fans around me were.

So -2500(ish) from SC, +2 WCBB fans.

Anyone have reasons for the CT attendance being so low? Hard to believe the fans are staying away in droves for the best program in women's basketball history.
I know it was the students spring break for the first game so no kids were on campus

I’m surprised about the CT attendance. I tried to buy tickets and the only seats available on line were ones that were less desirable. If half of Gampel was truly empty, there is a disconnect between what was offered for sale and what should have been available.
I saw a lot of tickets on Stub Hub for pretty high prices. I assume they didn’t sell.

While I’d love to see a sellout tomorrow in Albany, I doubt we’ll get one. The TUC holds 15,229 for basketball. Considering that the attendance was 8765 for the Sweet 16, I don’t believe we’ll see another 6500 fans show up tomorrow.
I’m not sure of the numbers but definitely more people in Albany today than Friday.

That's why UConn is a 2 seed and Miss St. got sent out to Portland as a 1 seed to face 2 seed Oregon in Portland. Louisville vs. UConn in Albany and rematch of Oregon vs. Miss. St. in Portland juiced attendance.

I know they would never do it..... but they could move the game next door to the Special Events Center that seats 4,500-5,000. They hold high school tournaments there... it would make for an looooooooooooooooooooooud environment. :p

I'd be 100% for that. I wonder what ESPN would say...

Uhh, the problem is not just ESPN, it's all those workers at the Greensboro arena who were promised work, and the arena owners who were promised revenue.

The Special Events Center is part of the Greensboro Coliseum complex. I'd imagine their employees are probably trained in multiple areas. Or maybe they're not...

I made a post yesterday that I would go vegan for a week if it was more than 4,000. Glad I deleted that post

I find it hard to believe there were 4100 people there last night...

Oh there wasn't... I'm sure there were some nc state fans who bought tickets and didn't use them. But it still counts the same

One thing that makes it look bad on TV is that there are as many seats in the lower bowl as it is in the whole arena in Chicago. Not sure how the arenas in Portland and Albany are configured.

So they're looking at attendance as tickets sold instead of buns in the seats? That seems dishonest.

I have four books on my nightstand. I will now tell everyone I read four books this week.

I'm not sure how Attendance gets counted. Sometimes it seems to be tickets sold, sometimes it's a turnstile count.
