So I learned on Reddit that there is a metaphorical College Basketball Championship Belt. If you treated the belt like they do in Boxing, with it being taken any time the holder loses a game, that's the belt. At the moment, UConn is the belt holder. We are the undisputed heavy weight champions of the world! We can't allow this to go to NC State.

There was no national champion last year and evidently, USC held the belt. These are the all time stats going back to 1949.

Very cool and worthy of its own off season thread. So we've got the belt for the 11th time (first in 1983). Have held it for a combined 1037 days, and Saturdays game will mark the 33rd time UConn is defending the belt.

Yep, to be fair, days greatly favors National Champions for obvious reasons. Still like us to hold it awhile.

Bouk took a pretty good fall late in the game and no one else has stepped up as a consistent shooter. Adam's looked like he had the fire early but somehow he got written out of the script. Unless someone does (Tyler, Brendan, RJ, Gaff) we're going to have a tough row to hoe tomorrow.
