Thanks, just watched / listened. I love this type of thing, and I'm glad they ultimately came around to giving Ray his due. I think he gets underrated often because a) he's not much of a loud mouth, flashy type, and b) he became known as a great shooter, whereas he was always a great offensive player overall.

They did '99 and Rip went 4th (up from 7th) after Shawn Marion, Manu Ginobli, and Elton Brand.
Bill made the pick, and he thinks Rip would've been better in modern era than his era.
Rayin his Seattle dayswas really a prolific scorer.
I remember Mike Francesa saying Grant Hill was so much better than Ray Allen and that "It's not even close."

Pre Grant Hills injury that’s an accurate statement.

Simmons will be doing redrafts from the 96 draft until the most current one. It’s a pretty good listen and very interesting observation on Ray Allen being picked 3rd over Iverson.

Grant Hill was a bad dude, and probably the only dookie I didn't hate. Both being in the HOF means its close, but non UConn fans understand that statement better than us.I remember Mike Francesa saying Grant Hill was so much better than Ray Allen and that "It's not even close."
Better? Maybe. Significantly better? Not even close? Crazy talk, at least when looking at advanced stats.
Hill's third season outshines Allen's best by a lot. Beyond that, may a slight edge to Hill as a more versatile player and better defender.
Does anyone have many memories of Grant Hill in the NBA? Meanwhile, Ray won two rings and made one of the biggest shots of all-time.
That's my point. Fans everywhere know what Ray did.depends if you live in Detroit, Orlando, or Phoenix
I also watched the next couple of those pods, the 2001 draft was very interesting as well. But 1996 was always my favorite draft. Excited for some more re-drafts, wonder where Kemba goes in 2011? Definitely higher than Brandon Knight, suckers!
When did Grant Hill ever play a game for Orlando?depends if you live in Detroit, Orlando, or Phoenix
Can't tell if this is one of those weird, unfunny jokes that is so popular around here, but anyway, Hill played 200 games for the Magic. When did Grant Hill ever play a game for Orlando?
