Jokic is breaking so many records this playoffs, it's really a joy to watch.

Huge game for Braun.

66, 31, and 20 from Jokic and Murray. Is that good?

30 point triple doubles for both of them. Is that good?

Didn't watch but saw the write ups. Amazing stuff from Jokic. Excited for Braun, happy to root for a kid from OP. Sounds like Porter wasn't good.

I've learned to never underestimate Miami, but they really need one big time guy to go with Butler. Adebayo is a very good player, but not that star level of player. The rest of their team are all guys you would want on your roster, but Miami has to rely on them too much. That just leaves them with zero margin for error against Denver.

Weird NBA thought of the day. Jaylen Brown pronounces his name "brawn". Christian Braun pronounces his name "brown" They should switch that up.

I think they were hoping for Herro and Bam to be a #2a and 2b. Kind of crazy to think that Miami is making this run while missing a 20ppg scorer. Heat culture is real

I’m a Nuggets fan so I hope Miami gets absolutely demolished the next 2 games, but it’s impossible to not have huge respect for every guy on that roster. Hopefully Denver isn’t underestimating them either, there’s still a lot of series left to be played

Well that Braun->Brown one has always annoyed me, and I was about to type that.

I must say though I’ve never heard Jaylen say his name Braun. That’s just weird.

For whatever reason, some people choose to have their name pronounced other than the way it is commonly pronounced. Who knows why??

Carl Braun was a BB player from the 50's and his name was pronounced "Brawn," as the letter combination calls for.

I knew somebody whose last name was Fink, and he pronounced it Finn. I guess he liked the way Finn sounded.

Partially true while also true that Miami works because of team buy-in, shifting malleable parts and a non-star mentality even by Jimmy.

The two better stars answer didn’t work for PHX or LA AND of course Miami would have to give up some very good parts like PHX just did to get that 2nd star. A catch-22 is that Bam is the only player they could have offered to fetch a Durant level star. It is impossible to project b/c they’ve been better without Hero, but arguably one more scorer like him could be enough to steal the series from Denver’s two superior stats. Though probably not as Ultimately & historically large majority of NBA championships boil down to who has the best player and that’s undeniably Jokic right now.

Dame has openly said if there was any team he can join it’d be Miami.

Would be a great fit if they can figure out how to package Herro, picks, and literally anyone besides Bam and Jimmy for him. Don't know if guys like Herro and Duncan’s value are as high as they once were.

Kevin Love is giving Aaron Gordon the Andre Jackson treatment early. Not even pretending to guard him, just hovering the paint for Jokic

Just picked up a defensive 3 seconds for it though lol

Was listening to the nuggets miami game on the radio in the background and for sure heard someone say "with English".

Made me wonder if the younger generation knows what that means. Below is a picture of my parents the night they bought their first home. I was 2 and probably holding my Dad's beer in the background.

I grew up with my Bronx raised Dad yelling at me to "use a little English" whenever a ball was involved. Sometimes a ball wasn't even in the equation..

For those too young;

Nuggets are a monster. This already would've happened if they were healthy. Jokic is the oldest guy out of their core 6, I'm not counting KCP but he should be a part of the core and he's only around 30. Only way they don't win a few is if Jokic goes back to Serbia to live with his horses.

It’s funny but Paul Pierce is not well these days. KG has taken his post playing career way more seriously.
Pierce is okay.

Just a millionaire drunk uncle is all.

Avoid going out drinking with Pierce. Julian Edelman learned the hard way.

“I kick it with Paul Pierce a bunch,” Edelman told podcast hosts Gilbert Arenas and Josiah Johnson. “You guys remember I got arrested for hood sliding on a car? You know that? Me and Paul Pierce hanging out. Too much tequila.”

Yeah don’t go out drinking with the drunk uncle by yourself. He’ll get you in trouble.

Fun to talk to at family functions with a lot of people around though.

Most would be amazed at what these guys are able to do off the court while being able to perform on it. I’ve heard about former MVPs that league doctors had to put on K2 because of how much they were addicted to Mary Jane. Needed it to function. Lol

Stay off the weeeed! (If you remember that rant from Stephen A.)

“Somebody’s gotta tell Paul Pierce you’re a champion bro! Is that how you wanna be seen?” Smith said.

He further scolded Pierce for behaving in ways he didn’t when he was with the Celtics, representing a storied franchise versus representing companies like Disney, who owns ESPN.

“You mean too much to the game of basketball for us to see you like that,” Smith said.
Judge not, Stephen A

I'm going to guess there is a 0% chance that NBA league doctors put players on synthetic weed that is worse for you than actual weed because they were addicted to actual weed.

"Okay I'm going to have you hit this Spice real quick to level you out. Ignore the urge to eat someone's face, this will treat your marijuana addiction."

It’s a very second hand source. But the reasoning behind it was so he could pass drug tests during the season. Not because it was actually better for him. You can probably imagine a scenario where the NBA would not want an MVP candidate being suspended because he can’t pass a drug test.

I 100% know first hand there’s guys who used to play for UConn who did K2 during their post UConn basketball seasons for the same purpose. It’s good that they did away with those stupid drug tests so guys don’t have to do that anymore.
