Thing I love is that Castle has so much room for growth. His FT shooting needs to get to 75-80%. That would have put him at 24-25 points this game. His 3PT shot looks better, but is still inconsistent. And oddly he fumbled the ball dribbling a bit in the second half for two(?) TOs I think. Two of those things are pretty fixable.
His passing is much better, he is also getting calls.
That's the thing. They may both end up as all nba defenders for the next decade.I can't imagine another duo in the NBA impacting both sides of the ball like Wemby and Castle.
From an AI Search I found this:He shot 72% from the line last year. Seems like getting to 75% would be a pretty modest improvement--almost expected. 80% is going to be a tall task for anyone in one off-season.
From an AI Search I found this:
"Stephon Castle had a free throw percentage of 75.5% during his time at UConn."
It was the easy way out...Why do you need AI to look that up?
Steph hasn’t been good tonight. Can’t be good always but sloppy with the ball and not shooting great. Some big TOs down the stretch
He did. 8 turnovers is ridiculous though. But did hit the game leading 3.

Sure, and I think a couple were not really on him but he had some bad passes. Also as we said, gotta hit your free throws too. But, got some points at the end and they got the dub. Just yucky to see 14 TOs in 2 games, especially because he’s usually so sure with the ball.9 TOs is pretty ugly, but he's gotta learn to be a lead guard and I like the team letting him play through mistakes. The championship window is in 2-3 years with Wemby. Invest in his co-star now
This is his first time since HS where it’s all him running the show. Here he had Newton and Diarra, last year it was CP3 and then Fox came in.Sure, and I think a couple were not really on him but he had some bad passes. Also as we said, gotta hit your free throws too. GOAT conversations in sports are usually very complicated and nuanced
If Wemby stays healthy consistently for 13-15 more years, he will be the GOAT. 0 doubt about it
The chances of a 7’7” guy being able to do a split was roughly 1% too.And the chances of a 7'7" player in the NBA doing that are roughly 0%
No I don’t disagree. I just am used to him being so secure with the ball that its odd watching the looseness. This is his first time since HS where it’s all him running the show. Here he had Newton and Diarra, last year it was CP3 and then Fox came in.
There’s going to be growing pains but it’s necessary.
Is it looseness or better defenders than he’s experienced before? No I don’t disagree. I just am used to him being so secure with the ball that its odd watching the looseness.
Also just more responsibility. Is it looseness or better defenders than he’s experienced before?
Looks like a completely different player, impressed with his transformation body wiseLuka with a cool 49 last night. In the immortal words of JC, "he's nawt bad!"
