By my count looks like we are only waiting on Hergy Mayala and Philippe Okounam. Right?

.-.
Those two recruits are listed on their big board photo, so I wonder how many more??

Right. But all 22 expected were listed since this morning - which seems odd to me. They just haven't officially posted those two on Twitter as signed with their solo pics.

I don't think they are expecting any beyond the 22 schollies.

still hoping for a surprise, but I am guessing this is the class UCONN will go with when the day is over

That really should be question 1 at the presser. How can we be short handed and not max our allotment out?

We had a shortage of players this year and failed to fill the recruiting class.

30 players is a failure to fill the recruiting class? I don't see an issue pocketing a few scholarships (3 maybe) should something come up or to award the preferred walk-ons. If he gives a preferred walk-on a scholarship before their junior year? it counts toward this year doesn't it.

I thought we might hear something about a JUCO QB transfer by now, but maybe promises were made to the guys already on board who the coaches feel confident in for the 2015 season. One thing we (I) didn't hear much about last season was how well Shirreffs performed on the practice squad and what the coaches think of his potential. I'm hoping he's ready to step up and step in this year. Or, maybe the phantom OC has some JUCO QB ties? Either way, I'm hoping a new OC is announced real soon.

Max is 25...he signed 22. I'll take that....especially with the walk-on contingent that are coming. I'd rather save 3 this year to use next year and possibly get to 25 than just gee the full allotment.

So there are scholarships available for preferred walk ons who prove themselves.

I'm having trouble understanding how people don't realize this that are writing around here. It seems quite obvious to me.

How many are we short? Thought I saw somewhere that some existing walk-ons might get scholarships in one of articles few weeks ago. Maybe they also feel some of the preferred walk-ons have shot of earning scholarship by next year. In any event it is a question to be asked and it is really a neutral, not negative question, but seems like most of UCONN beat reporters just write what he says instead or ask softball questions. Question 1 will probably be "Coach, do you like your recruiting class"

There are enough schollies for a full class and to reward some of the walk-ons.
