So any winners yet Chin?

So is it a sail or a stinkpot?? With a big horn??

Ok, How can I resist? 'Fogfot'.

Name it after your wife?
Ala the "Cornelia Marie" on Deadliest Catch?

.-.
I'm away on travel this week and have sent a couple of the suggestions back for consideration.

Unfortunately our 8-yr old daughter chose to get a double ear infection so the mrs. spent most of the day scheduling a doctor's appt and waiting for med's.

I had suggested "Blue Heaven" or "She Blew Me So I Bought Her a Boat". I haven't heard back yet.

As for suggestions from this thread so far, I'm partial to "For Sale", "Panhandle-r", "Suffering Bastard".

More possibilities include "CT Refugee", "Master Baiter" or "Taxi Vader".

Skip the name - go with symbols.

Have your wife dip her in paint and just press 'em on the boat wherever the name would ordinarily go. It would be like Prince when he decided he needed a symbol instead of a name. Half the boats in the world are sporting a name with some veiled reference to hooters - you're just gonna be the guy who evolved the idea.

I'd expect some resistance from your wife and perhaps modesty is an issue, so when you ask, do offer up the possibility of having a stripper perform the art work in her stead. She'll appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Good luck.

I have been lobbying for years to name our boat "Sea nope", but my wife votes it down every time it comes up.

Every time I read one of these posts from you I wonder why you are not institutionalized. I only start wondering after I stop laughing however.

But you just know that Chin will spend at least ten seconds considering the logistics of it. Unless I have misjudged him entirely, I think his first reaction is how best to dip the , what color and where on the boat it will....the fact that it will never, ever happen is about the fifth or sixth thing that will cross his mind

And if nothing else, the visual will be with him for a while - he can thank me for that, if nothing else.

.-.
Closer than you think Fishy. I thought about it for about five seconds then thought about dipping my twig and berries in some paint, slapping them on the boat and naming it "Tea Time".

Yet another benign thread that takes a disturbing turn, funny but disturbing notheless.

Easy Seabiscuit!

SS Motor boat my wife?

SS Scurvy?

SS I think I love my wife?

SS Wife boat (play off of life boat)

SS Stern Look!

Bow to my Wife!

Thanks to the crappy and uninspiring advice I asked for and received regarding a car and a dog, I bought a boat. A small, starter boat, but a boat none the less.

And it needs a name.

After the wife nixed the "The Flying Wasp", I realized I have up to 49% of any vote.

So I want some suggestions.
"Goat Locker"

"Goat Locker"

It's crossed my mind along with a few other naval terms like "Davey Jones" and such.

But those are too easy. It's like going to Baskin Robbins and ordering pistachio. On one level it seems creative, but it's never going away either.

I've been out of town all week, the wife is over a friend's house tonight kicking back, we have a wedding tomorrow, she's hosting a baby shower on Sunday.

Some time Monday night or Tuesday we'll figure this shit out.

And for those with the Break Out Another Thousand references. It's funny and I get it. Rumor has it the two happiest days of a boaters life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell the boat.

I was at the local boat store today, West Marine. Got an engine manual, bow light and a membership card for a bit over $100. I joked to the cashier that one day I'll walk out of the store for less than a "c" note. He laughed and said, he's heard that before. Worst thing is, I know he's right. Next two purchases are a depth finder and a towable inner tube for the kids. And neither one is less than $100. Such is the life.

Blue Heaven in script with the Uconn block "C" in the middle is still in the lead.

Do you want to have to explain the name of the boat to all those SEC fans where you live?

Funny. And I still have a lot of people down here thinking the blue/white colors and block "C" is for the Dallaz Cowboys.

As I stated in my original post, I knew had up to 49% of the vote naming the boat.

After a month of adding nothing to the conversation and providing zero names for consideration, Mrs. Chin decided to pay homage to her job as a chemo nurse and her patients' battle with cancer.

The Chin family boat is officially named "Livin' Life".

She did allow me the duty of picking the font and the color of the text, provided it meets her approval.
