All of the Naismith awards have only 4 finalistsshould have 5 with Booker
@FanSince17, are you rewriting the Naismith Awards process? This year, as last year, 10 semifinalists were whittled down to four finalists (Paige, JuJu, Lauren, and Hannah).should have 5 with Booker
Now you know that I'm on the committee!@FanSince17, are you rewriting the Naismith Awards process? This year, as last year, 10 semifinalists were whittled down to four finalists (Paige, JuJu, Lauren, and Hannah).
In the group of four, I'd replace Betts with Booker.should have 5 with Booker
Paige did not win the Wade Trophy as a freshman, because freshmen were not eligible. NaLyssa Smith won that award, the only NPOY that Paige did not win. Subsequently, the WBCA changed the eligibility to include freshmen, and Paige did win the Wade Trophy last year.I am fairly certain Sarah is going to sweep the awards like Paige did
Wow, I think it is the first time UConn has 2 of 4 names....
As an aside, how often do guards win DPOY?
Double Finalists from the same school has only happened 7 times. UConn has done it 6 times. South Carolina did it once in 2015-2016.Wow, I think it is the first time UConn has 2 of 4 names....
Paige also shared the Freshman NPOY award with CaitlinClarkPaige did not win the Wade Trophy as a freshman, because freshmen were not eligible. There is no “Freshman NPOY”. It’s Freshman of the Year. Paige was the 2020-21 (all classes - no restrictions) unanimous NPOY.Paige also shared the Freshman NPOY award with CaitlinClark
I think Browns is referring to the WBCA freshman of the year award, which was shared by Paige & CC, at a time when the WBCA NPOY was not available to freshmen. There is no “Freshman NPOY”. It’s Freshman of the Year. Paige was the 2020-21 (all classes - no restrictions) unanimous NPOY.

It’s in the pic of my post. There is a tendency by some to push this Paige vs Caitlin narrative. Both players are friends and their achievements stand on their own merit.I think Browns is referring to the WBCA freshman of the year award, which was shared by Paige & CC, at a time when the WBCA NPOY was not available to freshmen.
For what it’s worth, Wikipedia lists both Paige & CC as the WBCA FOY’s and there were several news stories at the time saying as much. It’s in the pic of my post.
