Mullins Projected Draft Projection

I thought since we signed him he would be one and done but that has changed. His injury lingered which hurt his athleticism and he went into a major three point shooting slump. It's a stacked draft and Braylon and his parents love everything about Hurley and UConn.
This is why I think we have a shot. He's easily our best player next year if he's back. Could really put up huge numbers and it's probably easier to put on some muscle in college than while trying to play 80 NBA games.

When is the deadline on the portal? Ideally, Mullins would be a SG, not a SF.

He will go fringe lottery or tail end of 1st round. If he chooses that route, he will make 2-3M in his first year and bounce around the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the Westchester Knicks of the world.

If he chooses to stay, he can make 2-3M at UConn and then go higher in the 2027 draft and make upwards of 3.5M upon his first professional year.

The only justification to going pro is the insurance policy of guaranteed money if he gets injured. But it isn’t life changing money at the back end of the lottery.

When you have a chance at good money you have to take it. So, I do not question anyone's decision about leaving early. But the landscape has changed. NIL changes everything. You still can make money at the college level. College is more manageable than the NBA life with potential to earn a decent fraction of NBA earnings ... not saying competing ... but decent money. I just look at history, very recent history. Wasn't Liam expected to go 13 - 15th? He did make it in the first round with the last pick, but now he's buried on a bench with Hornets.

He's not developing. If Liam is stuck in Charlotte, he's no better than a rotational player with limited minutes. If your goal is to make it to the NBA, make money, and barely play - then that's their decision.

Mullins needs some bulk and more development to be a "every day" NBA player. He'll be on a roster - maybe in 5 years he'll get this every day chance - but that's the foreseeable future for Mullins - limited minute player.
ALL of our guys seem to be trapped in Charlotte and rot. Bouk. Liam. Jeremy until a trade. Adrian. Dyson. Jake. Of course Mek. Please. Huskies can go yo DC. Just not Charlotte and I live in NC. Kemba was the lone survivor. Mostly. Wasn’t Bazz there too for like 1 month?

You don’t think $20M guaranteed is life changing money? That’s interesting

Jeremy didn't rot in Charlotte, Charlotte is how he was able to get consistent playing time after being burried in OKC. His play in Charlotte was how he was able to get his 3rd and last big contract with the Pacers before he ultimately tore up his knee. It's too early to make any declarations on Liam, Charlotte is actually good now, he's not good enough yet to crack their rotation.

Liam benefited from his time this year in the g league and will be part of the hornets rotation next year.
