And we thought she and Geno were friends... maybe not so much anymore.Nothing wrong with not wanting to coach against a friend. Surely Geno cannot enjoy beating former UCONN players by 50+ points.

I'm looming forward to seeing Lloyd play next season. She is going to be some kind of good.
Good point. I think Alicia Ratay may have been an even better shooter than Maggie Lucas, but after the core of the 2001 team left, she got fewer good looks. She may not find it find it so easy to get open looks without SD there. I'd expect her to be a little less productive next year against quality opponents.

All I can say is "Waaaaaaaa". Come on Muffet - grow a pair. Oh, and KML IS the best shooter in the country. Maggie is a terrific shooter, but KML is simply better. There's really not a single numerical statistic that supports Maggie as being better.
46.2% vs. 49.2% on 3 point FG's
44.0% vs. 52.8% on overall FG%
Again, no offense to Maggie who is a terrific player and averaged more PPG than KML did, but she's simply not a better shooter...
Hey , cool it guys !! Give the lady a break.........MM is still a little woozy from the BIG EASY , BIG Stage beating she and her team took in the semi's. It's called being concussed. Medical experts are working on preventions as we speak. Concussions have been known to wipe out some short-term and/or long-term memory. Sharp-shooting by KML and Stewie simply didn't happen to a concussed victim. That semi-final game beating in The Big Easy obviously has been forgotten........ This is a clear case of being concussed.
That's not giving much credit to KML. There's not a team out there that didn't put their best perimeter defender on KML when we played them. I'm sure she got the same treatment as Maggie did. Now if you are saying Maggie was constantly double and triple teamed out beyond the 3 point line, I can't speak to that since I never really saw PSU play. But if you are saying teams "defended" Maggie harder than KML, I just don't agree with that.Maggie was, also, much more the focus of defenses than was possible against KML because of UCONN's balance.
I had no idea cats ate grapes, let alone sour ones.
I don't know about Maggie, but I do remember Vivian saying a few years ago to the fan club - who asked some question about defense against UConn (in one of your really good years) - that the problem was you simply could not concentrate on one player, because there was someone else just as potent available. I suspect Ice is saying that one of the strategies that teams attempted against Penn State is to try to shut down Lucas and hope the rest of the team can't beat you, and that folks were unable to shut Lucas down. It DOES NOT make Lucas a better shooter or player, because KML was not in a comparable situation as often it is difficult to make a direct correlation in that way. That's not giving much credit to KML.
