Muffet unhappy with ND's draw in the ACC/BiG challenge

That's not giving much credit to KML. There's not a team out there that didn't put their best perimeter defender on KML when we played them. I'm sure she got the same treatment as Maggie did. Now if you are saying Maggie was constantly double and triple teamed out beyond the 3 point line, I can't speak to that since I never really saw PSU play. But if you are saying teams "defended" Maggie harder than KML, I just don't agree with that.
Just pointing out it is hard to compare overall. I disagree with the defenses on KML and I disagree about them getting the same treatment having seen almost all the PSU games and all the UCONN games. I do believe that KML is the better shooter overall and the more diverse shooter. From 3 I think it is a toss up having watched a lot of both. From the foul line they are a toss up, as well, with Lucas at .900 on 140 shots and KML .895 on 76. In other words, Lucas drew a lot more fouls on her shots and often had contact that didn't result in calls, too, but did affect shots and shooting %.

I'd argue a few shots at Muffett are more than warranted. Her comments were absolutely a snipe at UConn. She not so subtly indicated that she thinks Maggie is a much better shooter than KML and that she doesn't consider Geno a friend (given that she's been vocal about wanting to continue to play UConn).

I suppose you could take it that way, but I didn't. To me her comments were just the
routine "say something complimentary about an upcoming opponent". Just standard
coachspeak boilerplate.

I'm looming forward to seeing Lloyd play next season. She is going to be some kind of good.
I don't blame you, she was a dynamo, and as much a reason for kicking our butt this year as anyone basically!

Really?. Everything doesn't revolve around UConn. Maggie Lucas is arguably the best shooter in the country, and there was no one like her in the Big East. Maggie and KML are both great shooters, but Maggie plays differently than KML and presents a different defensive challenge. Geno says similar things all the time when asked questions by the media, which then can be spun into some diss. Washington is Muffet's former player and assistant, that's a whole different level of friendship than what exists between Muffet and Geno. Geno has said he would prefer not to play his former players. He has never said that he would prefer not to play Doug Bruno for example. Are we supposed to infer that Geno doesn't really consider Doug a friend?

.-.
Wow - what a non-story. Geno never scheduled OSU because he didn't want to play against his good friend. And once you have played another coach every year for a long time the 'friend' part of the occasion wears off.
As for the Lucas comment ... she may be the best shooter in the country, though most of us would disagree.

Muffet is kinda politically splitting hairs in her comments about Maggie Lucas. After referring to Lucas as perhaps the best shooter in the country, she says: "We probably haven't seen a guard like her in a while. We've seen some really good players in the Big East, but we haven't seen a player like her."

Well, if you strictly classify KML as a forward, and strictly classify Lucas as a guard, and all your subsequent comments are predicated on referencing only guards, I suppose the comments are fair. Otherwise, MM's got a short memory.

I saw the defenses MM designed to stop Kaleena...that's all you need to know...

And Maggie Lucas is an unbelievable shooter, as well...I suspect she gets the same treatment as KML...
