It'll be interesting to see if the ACC referees are half as generous to the newbie AAC member as the Big East officials seemed to be in falling all over themselves to bolster the Domer's Big East challenge to UConn.

Yup, it was entirely because of corrupt officials.

Average number of fouls per game?
UConn = 17.4
NDame = 16.0
Percentage of shots from 3:
UConn = 24%
NDame = 17%

Stale?

Ask WCBB fans and media which were the best games of last year, and I'd bet that the 4 UConn-ND games are in the top 5. Top 10 at worst.

I didn't enjoy havign to play them so often, but no one can deny that WCBB has a lot of snoozer games or ones not played at the highest level. UConn-ND matches were easily among the most competitive, well played, exciting games.

You took that portion of my quote out of context, there were a whole lot of conditioners around that portion of my remark, going to the point that one or two meetings a year are usually healthy exciting rivalry basketball, good for the teams and good for the sport, but four times a year is just overkill for the enthusiasm.

You got me there. Although when I picked my color, Tennessee wasn't as hated and I believe the color is closer to Texas orange.

I am a big Huckleberry Hound fan. It would have been a great member name, and being called HH would have been fine. Not sure I would have liked the "you huckleberry" comments I would have received over the years.

As opposed to the comments you have received over the years?:eek:

..I think "you huckleberry" would sound pretty innocuous. And, you could refer to the insulting party as "Scooter"!:p

"I don't think so, Scooter!"

Random "huckleberry" reference....that's what Doc Holiday (Val Kilmer) called one of the Clanton gang as he got ready to "dispatch" him in the movie Tombstone (with Kurt Russell as Wyatt).

'Uconn Sucks' was the shout at the girls dressing room after a NCAA tournament game played against N.D. by their player whose name ended in '-ski'. That Uconn team featured Maya Moore. Geno complained to "Muffet' regarding the incident. Yes, we are to forgive, but hard to forget!

I don't see why the Huskies wouldn't play ND. They'll be consistent Top 10 competition, and it's not like Muffet pushed for conference jumping, or would have had any influence if she had.

While I agree that Notre Dame would be great competition, the fact that Coach McGraw did not push for conference jumping does not separate her from the institution she represents. Coach Auriemma has quite often voiced his displeasure with Notre Dame's unique conference deal. Eventually, though, the UConn-Notre Dame game will likely be scheduled with a strong push from ESPN. Holding out may just be a negotiating ploy.
