Mountain West Moves

While this doesn't pertain to the Mountain West contract snafu......

The owner of the Suns and the Mercury is requiring employees to sign contracts to include arbitration.

Wonder if Nate was required to do this

The Mountain West targeted the wrong MAC school. I think the Ohio Bobcats would have been a better target. The Bobcats have scored more points against Ohio State this season - 9 - than any other school, including Texas and Washington.

Yeah, NIU should have some trepidation. Where will the money come from once all the exit fees are paid? What’s the chance that there is a settlement for less? Cash grab then what?

My guess- “let the next president and AD figure it out!” while making this move is at the top of the CV for the current officeholders as they climb the corporate ladder themselves.

.-.
I know why they didn’t do go for them, but if the MWC adds NDSU and they maintain dominance on the G5 level, the whole PAC-12 will seem like a massive blunder.

I’m on the side of it still being worth it with the money they had, but I’d hardly be surprised if it turns out to be more of the same incompetence that doomed them

Since their loss to the Antelopes last month Boise State is still on fire and is in the process, getting their 9th in a row over the wandering Lobos. Looks like the tournament next month will be a delight as the Rebs, BS and SDS slug it out.

If the MWC is going to take NDSU then what do they need Sac State for?

I actually think this is a mistake for NDSU. They have had a good thing going for a while now

The recent 1AA move ups have gone well — JMU made CFP, Delaware went to a bowl.

NDSU is the biggest fish in that lake. They will be ordinary in FBS.
Pay attention. JMU was one of the biggest fishes -- making the semis in 5 of 6 years with 1 title and 2 runnerups. 4 years later they made the CFP.

NDSU surely sees that and thinks they can do it too.

Except they changed the rules so that another JMU situation doesn't happen again. Coupled with the fact the MWC is closer to the MAC than to the AAC, they will probably never get the G6 spot.

They also only paid $5k to make the jump, not the $17 million NDSU paid so they saved a lot of money that they could invest in their program. NDSU should have moved up when the CFP officially went to 12, they are a couple of years too late.
