"During his presentation to the Florida State Board of Trustees on Wednesday, Athletics Director Michael Alford said FSU drew the second-most viewers in the ACC this past season at 29.7 million. That was despite posting a 5-7 record overall and a second straight losing season.
Over the next six years, Alford said, Florida State will generate an average of $11.8 million more each year from television revenue than it would have if the ACC still split those dollars equally. The Atlantic Coast Conference changed its revenue distribution this past year following lawsuits from FSU and Clemson."
Still not SEC/B1G range...but the lawsuit paid.off.
If FSU/Miami come back on line with consistent winning seasons, it may enhance their desirability to the SEC-B1G.
Conferences aren't going to do anything to get the attention of the Government. And to start throwing members out of their conference would. That would definitely get the attention of the Federal Government, and once they get involved everything will come tumbling down.

But the ticket sales staff were the only ones at the game!Question.
Would it be financially more advantageous if BC hoop just stopped selling tickets? Disable the whole system, lay off the ticket sales staff and the people at the door. Just leave the doors open before games. You won’t make any money, but perhaps losing less is the way to go.
At some point, you’re not even making back the cost of the ticket.
I wonder if they could even get high school kids to show up if they gave out freebies. Dead weight program.Question.

For BC and Syracuse this place in most ACC conference sports would look familiar.
Why not both?It is actually amazing if you look at where UConn has went compared to the other schools in the ACC since the original Big East breakup. I want to be in a P4 very very very badly, but wouldnt trade the success/championships for being those schools (pitt, Cuse, BC, WVU, etc.)
Boston College has already finished dead last in football and women’s hoop.
They have an excellent chance of gaining the trifecta this week in basketball.
It will never happen. We know this. But those 4 former Big East programs (cuse, pitt, bcu, nd) could maybe save themselves by joining the new Big East. The football independents could form some type of conference if the NCAA let them but again, never happen. From a bcu board and some stats are outdated already, but a complete bust

I have to believe moving to a southern conference has at least something to do with their failures. at least recruiting wise. If it was strictly mismanagement, it would be a coincidence that all four programs went south, so to speak, at the same timeTheir issues are just mismanagement.
I don’t think cutting their rights revenue by 80% is going to make them smarter.
It really is mismanagement. Think about this. DeFilippo fired/pushed out 4 relatively successful coaches, 2 in football (O'Brien and Jagodzinski), and 1 in men's (Skinner) and 1 in women's basketball (Iglese), and BC has never recovered. Add in a President who really doesn't care about athletics (but is leaving soon), and you have the recipe for BC's athletic collapse.I have to believe moving to a southern conference has at least something to do with their failures. at least recruiting wise. And, they need to re-energize their fan base with a geographic rival just 80 miles down the road.It really is mismanagement. Think about this. BC has dug themselves a deep hole, but with the right administration (the new President?) and some good head coaching hires, BC has a chance to turn it around and become respectable in athletics.
