Do you know how long FSU has tried to get into the SEC?
"TALLAHASSEE, FL, November 29, 1955 - Florida State University will make formal application for membership in the Southeastern Conference at the conference's regular meeting in Nashville early next month.
Dr. Howard G. Danford, FSU athletic director, said today he will file the application formally at the SEC's meeting December 8-9-10."
And back in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80's and even early in 1990, they had the University of Florida's support and still did not get in. They even tried again when Maryland left the ACC....they were not even one of the schools vetted by the Big Ten for expansion.
There's just no interest. It makes no financial sense for the SEC or the Big Ten or their television partners. Why is this so hard to understand?
